IN THE NEWS: PROBE NSBA "DOMESTIC TERRORISM" LETTER ENDS IN APOLOGY, PLEDGE TO "ENSURE" THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN"

ARTICLE IS FROM THE EPOCH TIMES; you will hit the paywall---but the gist is:

Top officials at the National School Boards Association (NSBA) have apologized for a controversial letter that called on the Justice Department to probe parents under domestic terrorism laws, blaming a “concerning lack of internal process and accountability” on the part of the association and vowing policy changes “to ensure this does not happen again.” The apology and pledge to do better going forward came in a May 20 statement issued at the conclusion of an independent investigation into the circumstances around the Sept. 29, 2021 letter to the Justice Department.  MORE HERE.

IN THE NEWS: CHURCH ATTACK, CALIFORNIA, GUNMAN WAS CHINESE IMMIGRANT MOTIVATED BY HATE FOR TAIWANESE PEOPLE, AUTHORITIES SAY

LAGUNA WOODS, Calif. (AP) — A gunman in a deadly attack at a Southern California church was a Chinese immigrant motivated by hate for Taiwanese people, authorities said.  The shooter killed Dr. John Cheng, 52, and wounded five others during a lunch held by Irvine Taiwanese Presbyterian Church, which worships at Geneva Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods, authorities said at a Monday news conference.  Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes said the motive of the shooting was a grievance between the shooter, identified as a Chinese immigrant and U.S. citizen, and the Taiwanese community. China claims Taiwan is a part of its national territory and has not ruled out force to bring the island under its rule. The suspect was identified as David Chou, 68, of Las Vegas.

Netflix axed multiple projects this week, including an animated film based on Ibram X. Kendi's Antiracist Baby, a book aimed at preschoolers.

The move comes after Netflix lost 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of 2022, the first time the company has lost more subscribers than it has brought in in a decade. The platform also fired 150 employees, including those in the animation department. According to the service, however, the firings were a creative decision and not financially motivated.  READ AND SEE MORE AT  https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/technology/netflix-cancels-ibram-x-kendis-antiracist-baby-project
