ABOUT THAT COFFEE SHOP ANTI-SEMITISM INCIDENT.....

After issuing an apology on Friday after video surfaced showing employees at an Oakland coffee shop blocking a Jewish woman from a bathroom while making anti-Israel comments, the owners have now fired the employees allegedly involved in the altercation.

“On Sunday, we fell short of this vision. What began as a civil dialogue between our staff and a Jewish customer escalated into a situation that was shocking and unacceptable. Events like these strike fear in the Jewish community and perpetuate the rise of anti-Semitism in our community and around the world,” Amy and Chris Hillyard, the owners of Farley’s posted on social media. A WORD FROM THE CROTON CHRONICLE------ Now that the problems with the Croton-Harmon school district's electric buses (difficulty keeping the students and drivers warm because the heaters use so much electricity) have been discussed in the Sustainability Committee, let's have an open discussion of the issues rather than behind closed doors. Some solutions to climate change will be more challenging than others. The Croton Chronicle will have more this coming week.

IN THE NEWS---NY GOVERNOR SAYS CALLS FOR GENOCIDE ARE VIOLATION OF STATE LAW

Kathy Hochul, the Governor of the State of New York, posted a letter to X on Saturday night stating that “calling for the genocide of any group of people” on the campus of a New York State public college or university “would constitute a violation of New York State Human Rights Law and the Civil Rights Act of 1964."

"IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE" AND MORE...

Directed by Frank Capra, starring James Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore...

The film is one of the most beloved in American cinema, and has become traditional viewing during the Christmas season.

It stars James Stewart as George Bailey, a man who has given up his dreams to help others, and whose imminent suicide on Christmas Eve brings about the intervention of his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody (Henry Travers). Clarence shows George all the lives he has touched, and how different life in his community of Bedford Falls would be if he had never been born.

Despite performing poorly at the box office due to stiff competition at the time of its release, the film has become a classic and is a staple of Christmas television around the world...It's a Wonderful Life is now considered one of the greatest films of all time.

It was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and has been recognized by the American Film Institute as one of the 100 best American films ever made.  And your editor agrees....

As for the "woke commentary" this blog receives every year about how this movie should be relegated to the dust bin or worse still, burned(!), YAWN.....AND OY.....save your aching arches. That road is permanently closed here at Everything Croton.....
