NEW FROM TRAVALANCHE--80 YEARS AGO--THE DEBUT OF TOM AND JERRY

I'm not the hugest Tom and Jerry fan but thought the date February 10, 1940 worth marking -- it's the release date of Puss Gets the Boot, the first animated short starring the characters who would become Tom and Jerry (though Tom's name initially was Jasper.) The character were William Hanna and Joseph Barbera prior to the formation of their own studio....READ MORE AT 80 Years Ago: The Debut of Tom and Jerry – (Travalanche) (wordpress.com)

EDUCATION ISSUES: ARIZONA BILL WOULD REQUIRE TEACHERS TO GET PARENTAL PERMISSION TO USE STUDENTS' "PREFERED PRONOUNS"

December 30, 2022 | Terresa Monroe-Hamilton -- Republican Arizona State Senator-Elect John Kavanagh is proposing a bill that will require permission from parents in order for teachers and other school employees to use a student’s preferred pronouns that do not reflect their biological sex.

“An employee or independent contractor of a school district or charter school may not knowingly address, identify or refer to a student who is under eighteen years of age by a pronoun that differs from the pronoun that aligns with the student’s biological sex unless the school district or charter school receives written permission from the student’s parent,” the legislation asserts. ADAM COLEMAN - WHY WE ALL SHOULD FOLLOW LIBS OF TIKTOK FOUNDER AND MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD---DESPITE CANCEL CULTURE

By Adam B. Coleman---Why we all should follow Libs of TikTok’s founder and make our voices heard — despite cancel culture

The hardest part of changing the world around you is making the decision to attempt it in the first place. It’s even more difficult when you hear stories of people from different walks of life losing their economic means to provide for simply expressing a counter-viewpoint. Even in anonymity, there’s the fear your secret will be uncovered — and that secret becomes the main weapon your opposition will threaten to bludgeon you with.

Libs of TikTok creator Chaya Raichik decided to disarm her opponents by revealing her identity this week on Fox Nation’s “Tucker Carlson Today.” MORE AT Why we all should follow Libs of TikTok's founder and make our voices heard — despite cancel culture (nypost.com)

OBITUTARY AND SERVICE INFO FOR JOHN WILLIAM CONGDON KERR

Sadly, John William Congdon Kerr passed away suddenly on December 26, 2022. A lifetime Croton resident, John was born at Phelps Hospital on September 14, 1967, to Grace and Jim Kerr who pre-deceased him. He attended K-12 in Croton schools where he was active in band and various activities. He was a very fine musician. He was also active in the local Cub and Boy Scout clubs and in the Asbury United Methodist Church where he served as president of the Methodist Youth Fellowship. John loved Croton – it’s geography, history, people and shops; in particular the Black Cow coffee shop where he loved to go for his morning coffee, and to read.
