TRUE COSTS OF EVS REVEALED BY BOMBSHELL REPORT.....

True costs of EVs revealed by bombshell report out of a Texas think tank By Olivia Murray

The electric vehicle industry is barely making it with all the cushy subsidies, grants, and backroom deals… imagine if these car companies were actually forced to manufacture a sellable and profitable product, and produce their own wealth instead of just stealing ours?

Just two days back, a regular AT contributor noted that the Big Three automakers were diminishing E.V. output because, according to The Wall Street Journal, coupled with a “need” to make rechargeable cars more profitable, there is a “slowing demand” for consumers.

Yesterday, Fox News reported on a “sweeping first-of-its-kind” Texas Public Policy Foundation analysis put together by “energy experts” Jason Isaac and Brent Bennett, which revealed that the actual cost of rechargeable cars and the E.V. industry is, in reality, much higher than they’re leading us to believe. HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A change by the United States Coast Guard in how the Port of New York is defined has raised the possibility that barges carrying dangerous materials such as oil could be allowed to anchor in the Hudson River north of the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.

Rep. Pat Ryan, D-District 18, said the administrative change is alarming.

“This could turn the Hudson River into a parking lot for dangerous oil barges, threatening the health and safety of our kids, the more than 100,000 people who rely on the river for their drinking water, and our entire ecosytem,” he said in a news release issued Wednesday.

Ryan said he is demanding the Coast Guard upholds the anchoring ban on the Hudson.

“We must once again stand up with one voice to fight for our river,” he said.  READ MORE AT Ryan Demands Coast Guard Uphold Oil Barge Anchor Ban On Hudson River | Tarrytown, NY Patch

Local Businesswoman Turns Memoir into Show on Life’s Twists and Turns

Abby Luby

Local businesswoman and motivational guru Irene Amato’s memoir on her life experiences is the basis for a one-time performance of “The OH Show – The Good, The Bad and The Ugly on Life!” at the Paramount Hudson Valley next month.

When Irene Amato set out to write her memoirs about her successful business career and motivational philosophies, she reached out to her longtime friend Robert Schork, whose ideas and creative energy provided a synergistic and productive collaboration.

Schork unexpectedly died suddenly last May and Amato was left without her muse. MORE AT Local Businesswoman Turns Memoir into Show on Life’s Twists and Turns | The Examiner News

AT THE MAILBOX: THE HARMON SWEET SHOPPE

A reader had fond memories of The Harmon Sweet Shoppe and wondered if there was anything available online. Click on the photo; read more below.

THE HARMON SWEET SHOPPE--click on the photo - The Harmon Sweet Shoppe graced this location on South Riverside Ave. From the late 1930’s to the very early 1960’s, the Harmon Sweet Shoppe was THE place to go for a home-cooked meal, home-made candy, and home-made pies. The building was built by George Marshall; the business was operated for most of its existence by Rose and Bob Hennessey. It was also THE place for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner:

Mrs. Hennessey’s pies were legendary, and one resident remembers that her Christmas ribbon candy and Chocolate Pecan Divinity, a nougat-like confection, disappeared almost as soon as it hit the display case. Her angel cookies were also hung on Christmas trees. Her red foil wrapped Chocolate Cherry Hearts were a Valentine's Day staple.

Later this site would become home to the “What-Not Shop”, Russ Ryder’s Insurance, The Wicker Shop, and Koch Accounting.

P.S. THE SITE OF THE NOW KWIK-MARK/DAIRY MART was also a Hennessey shop known as "Goodies".

ABOUT THOSE MASKS, GEORGE FLOYD, POLICE REFORMS, BOWSER FLIPS, ETC.

Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser, previously a supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, has introduced legislation to empower the police and combat organized retail theft in response to a surge in crime.  The Addressing Crime Trends Now Act (ACT Now) aims to support communities, hire and retain qualified officers, and hold criminals accountable.  The legislation targets organized retail theft, makes it illegal to wear masks during robberies or assaults, and reinstates the police department’s ability to address open-air drug markets.Democrat Mayor Flips On George Floyd Police Reforms (msn.com)
