Terror unmasked 'Green Goblin' subway attack crew sought by NYPD have 15 prior busts between them--Four members of the “Green Goblin” gang who brutally attacked two 19-year-old women on a Manhattan train have 15 arrests between them, authorities said Friday as they identified the suspects. GOP senators sound alarm over 'windfall' student loan payments to federal workers--Senators probing the Biden admin over a federal employee student loan repayment program that could be costly for taxpayers--EXCLUSIVE: A group of Republican senators is sounding the alarm over a program that may refund federal employees thousands of dollars in student loan payments that were never made by these employees, and were instead made by the federal government. Federal employees are eligible for a popular employment benefit that repays up to $10,000 in student loans each year. Dear Fr. McSweeney:

Thank you for welcoming the Little Sisters of the Poor to visit St. Augustine Parish the weekend of September 17/18 to accept donations for our mission of caring for the elderly poor. The priests and the parishioners showed us great kindness, hospitality and a warm welcome as usual.

The parishioners were once again very generous to us. The total amount of the donations received at the door of the Church amounted to $5,158and will be used for the care of our residents.

The Little Sisters and our residents remember you and the parishioners of St. Augustine Parish in our prayers. May God bless you and keep you in His loving care.

Imagine you’re the parent of three lovely, school-aged children, each of whom possesses a unique set of characteristics, personality traits, and educational needs: The eldest might do best in private school. He’s sharp, he’s up for the challenge — if only you could pay for it. Your middle child has some special needs, and you’d love for her to receive the extra care she requires, but therapy is so expensive. Your youngest daughter would prefer to be home-schooled, learning subjects at different paces, but curriculum these days isn’t cheap.

Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy

One of the sections of Le Giornate del Cinema Muto is 'Restorations and Rediscoveries'. 

For us, the highlight is the short American comedy Night Owls (James Parrott, 1930), one of the first sound films of Stan Laurel (1890–1965) and Oliver Hardy (1892–1957). The thin Englishman and the heavyset American formed an immensely popular comedy double act during the early classical Hollywood era. They became well known during the late 1920s through the mid-1940s for their slapstick comedies with Laurel playing the clumsy and childlike friend of the pompous Hardy. After the war, they were still very popular in Europe, where they made their final, little-known film.
