Here’s what a sampling of students at Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School told River Journal North they have planned for the summer. (Hopefully, they’ve also told their parents!) A big THANK YOU to Croton-Harmon Union Free School District and Irvington Union Free School District for their kind cooperation. Other districts were invited to participate as well.  SEE MORE AT  Summer Fun for the Young Ones!  – River Journal Online – News for Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow, Irvington, Ossining, Briarcliff Manor, Croton-on-Hudson, Cortlandt and Peekskill

EUROPE BREAKS AGAINST PUBERTY BLOCKERS AS US BECOMES 'OUTLIER" IN DEFENDING TREATMENTS FOR TRANSGENDER MINORS

Story by Hanna Panreck • 19m ago

Several countries in Europe are now discouraging giving puberty blockers to children as the "outlier" U.S. continues to defend the treatment, according to a new report.  The United Kingdoms National Health Service limited the use of puberty blockers for clinical research this month, according to its website, citing "significant uncertainties surrounding the use of hormone treatments."  MORE AT Europe breaks against puberty blockers as US becomes 'outlier' in defending treatments for transgender minors (msn.com)

A GLIMPSE OF OUR JEWISH FUTURE
05/30/2023 01:30:07 PM

This past Friday evening, five outstanding high school seniors celebrated their confirmation at Temple Israel. As part of the ceremony, they each offered a personal statement that reflected their thoughts about their Jewish identity. I am inspired by what they wrote. Their words offer us a glimpse of our Jewish future and give us every reason to face that future with hope.

ABOUT THOSE DRAG QUEENS---VILLAGE SET TO MODIFY ADULT ENTERTAINMENT LAW

Welcome to the New Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Many thanks to The Gazette for their very thorough article on this issue in their most recent edition, only a portion of which is included here--click on the image.

The paper does not have an online presence but is sold just about everywhere. You are encouraged to read the article in its entirety as the village board appears ready to change the adult entertainment law to accommodate "drag queen" story hour.

The board is set to have a public hearing on this issue on next Monday; residents should get in their written comments--if they are not going to attend---to the village and/or the paper, well before then.

Residents who have expressed concerns here about the possibility of this activity occurring within a certain distance from assorted local nursery/child care businesses and churches must send those comments to village officials, etc. not anonymously here.
