Charges were dismissed against a Peruvian man after he was accused by the FBI of making over 150 false bomb threats to cities across the United States.

In September, the FBI said 33-year-old Eddie Manuel Nunez Santos was arrested in Lima, Peru and was charged with calling in fake bomb threats to schools, synagogues, airports and hospitals across the United States, including two synagogues in Westchester County, from Sept. 15 to Sept. 21. A Sad Goodbye to Family-Friendly Peekskill Brewery--November 28, 2023--Abby Luby

ST. AUGUSTINE’S 2023 CHRISTMAS CLUB--ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY OF ST. AUGUSTINE PARISH

Welcome to The New Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

ST. AUGUSTINE’S 2023 CHRISTMAS CLUB -- St. Augustine Parish - Ossining, New York (staugny.org) St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Augustine Parish -- The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization, dedicated to serving the poor while deepening our relationship with God through that service. Our local Conference was formed here at St. Augustine’s in March 2010. Since that time, we have served many of our local brothers and sisters, regardless of race or religion, with matters such as: small short-term financial assistance, home visits, referrals to assistance for services that we can’t provide, and a compassionate presence to those who are suffering. Specifically, some of our assistance over the past year included providing weeks of meals for the Ossining Homeless Shelter; helping a senior get her dentures repaired; providing heating assistance for a critically ill man; assisting a mother and daughter with rent and food; paying for shelter and food for a family who lost their home. Additionally, on a regular basis we get requests for food assistance. Our Conference is made up of volunteers from St. Augustine's who are dedicated to serving those in need but none of this would be possible without your generous support and prayers. Please make your check payable to the “Society of St. Vincent de Paul” and return it to the wooden box in the vestibule or the Parish Office. Donation envelopes are in the monthly packets that are mailed to the parishioners or on the wooden box in the vestibule of the Church. You can also donate to the Christmas Club through WeShare.

PORTLAND BUSINESSES FLEEING DOWNTOWN OFFICES OVER NIGHTLY BLM RIOTS--Large companies are fleeing offices in downtown Portland — because nightly Black Lives Matter riots are making the heart of the Oregon city a no-go area, according to a report. “Businesses are leaving,” Andrew Hoan, president and CEO of the Portland Business Alliance (PBA), told KATU. “The financial consequences to the downtown corridor are a running calculation that is almost impossible to wrap your mind around,” he said — with one company already saying the riots have cost $20 million in damage and lost business. READ MORE AT https://nypost.com/2020/08/19/portland-businesses-fleeing-downtown-over-nightly-blm-riots/

HILLCREST SCHOOL, UPDATE, NYC SCHOOLS CHIEF TRIES TO CALM UNREST AT "RADICALIZED" HIGH SCHOOL AFTER ANTISEMITIC STUDENT RIOT

NY POST====City Schools Chancellor David Banks rushed to Hillcrest High School on Monday in the wake of last week’s anti-Israeli student riot — where teachers told him they don’t feel safe going to work.

Banks would not say exactly what sort of punishment the ringleaders of the hate-filled mayhem face but he did say some students were suspended — and that the teacher who was targeted for attending a pro-Israel will return to the school later this week.

“There was disciplinary action that was taken,” the school chief said. “We don’t share the names of students. Students who were responsible for creating this, we have invoked a set of disciplinary measures in that regard.

“We did not suspend hundreds of students who [were] in the hallway,” he added. “There are some people calling for us to just suspend 500 students. We are not doing that.”

Banks also revealed that the school was placed on lockdown two days after the antisemitic rioting when a student told administrators that it would happen again if the pro-Israel teacher wasn’t fired.
