Hen Hud Looking to Tweak Controversial Princeton Plan

Acting Hendrick Hudson Superintendent of Schools Dr. Dennis Lauro wasted no time in making his presence felt last week as he indicated changes would be made to the controversial Princeton Plan structure that has caused division among parents.

Three days after taking over the reins of the district from Joseph Hochreiter, who requested a leave of absence, Lauro appeared at his first Board of Education meeting March 1 and addressed the future of the Princeton Plan.

The Board of Education voted in April 2021 to implement the Princeton Plan after much community debate. The move was made as district officials grappled with ways to deal with the closing of the Indian Point nuclear power plants in Buchanan and the $25 million annually Hendrick Hudson would be losing. IN THE NEWS---WE NEED A COVID COMMSSION

We Need a COVID Commission | Opinion--Story by Martin Kulldorff and Jay Bhattacharya • Feb 22

When an airplane crashes, the Federal Aviation Administration conducts a detailed and thorough investigation. The purpose is not to find a scapegoat, but to ensure the same problem never resurfaces again.

Our collective response to the COVID-19 pandemic constituted history's biggest public health mistake. We did not properly protect older high-risk Americans, while many ineffective COVID restrictions have generated long-term collateral public health damage that is now upon us. Both have yielded excess deaths. Public health crashed.  READ MORE AT We Need a COVID Commission | Opinion (msn.com)

EDUCATION ISSUES IN THE NEWS---UNIVERSITY REVISES CHILLING STUDENT SNITCHING SYSTEM AFTER RECEIVING LEGAL DEMAND LETTER

University Revises ‘Chilling’ Student Snitching System After Receiving Legal Demand Letter Story by Alexa Schwerha • Yesterday 10:46 AM

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee revised its bias reporting system to clarify that the school cannot punish constitutionally protected speech.

The change came after Southeastern Legal Foundation (SLF), a legal nonprofit, sent the school a legal demand letter in October 2022 warning its system had several speech violations.

“Too many colleges engage in censorship these days and encourage students to censor each other. Students should be free to engage in open debate and discourse without fear of retribution,” Cece O’Leary, SLF’s director of the 1A Project, said in the press release. SHAMELESS AOC IN THE NEWS---PIERS MORGAN

Shameless AOC is Democratic queen bee of ‘rules for thee but not for me’  By Piers Morgan

March 6, 2023 1:00pm

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hates the super-rich.

Barely a week goes by without her publicly raging against billionaires, and saying they shouldn’t be allowed to exist alongside poverty in America.

It’s not just the “immorality” of it all that this self-styled working-class firecracker from the Bronx despises, it’s the “inequality.”

Raging against America’s economic injustice, she told the New York Times in 2019: “We are at our richest point that we’ve ever been, but we’ve also been our most unequal.”

So you would imagine that Ocasio-Cortez would view something like New York’s annual Met Gala as the very epitome of revoltingly immoral and unequal capitalist excess, attended by the wealthiest and most famous people in the US all showing off how rich they are in an orgy of lavishly over-the-top indulgence.------more at Shameless AOC is queen Democrat bee of ‘rules for thee but not for me’ (nypost.com)
