OBERLIN IN THE NEWS--JUSTICE SERVED---OBERLIN TO (FINALLY) PAY BAKERY $36MILLION IN DEFAMATION SUIT OVER RACIAL PROFILING

For those of us following this sad story----and what happens when the mob comes for you.....

Oberlin College has agreed to pay over $36 million to the family-owned bakery the Ohio school falsely accused of being racist in a shoplifting incident.

Gibson’s Bakery filed suit against the progressive college in 2017 for siding with three black students who claimed the store racially profiled them when they were caught stealing from the shop the year before.

The hefty payout comes after the Ohio Supreme Court last month denied Oberlin’s bid to hear its appeal of the 2019 jury verdict, which found that the college defamed the bakery when a staffer made flyers claiming that Gibson’s had a history of racial profiling.

The college announced the award in a statement Thursday, saying that the Board of Trustees decided not to push the matter further.  MORE AT Oberlin to pay Gibson's Bakery $36M in defamation suit (nypost.com)

Next up---A LITTLE BUILDING INSPIRATION---from one of our favorite paper modelling sites---PAPERMAU---the Wittenberg City Church Paper Model In 1/240 Scale - by Dieter Stahl.

Built between 1412 and 1439, the Wittenberg City Church, in Germany, became famous during the early days of the reformation, when Martin Luther was preaching here.

It should not be confused with the All Saints Church of Wittenberg, where Luther posted his 95 theses in 1517, thereby starting the reformation.

The model depicts the church as it appears today, with the modified towers that were rebuilt to get their current appearance in 1556.

When I was asked to be a part of an online card making event, I made a Holiday House pop-up card. And after that project, I kept thinking of so many other pop-up house designs that I could do. That lead me to write Playful Pop-Up Houses, a pop-up book with 5 main pop-up house designs. But what is unique is that each design has different houses you can use with the design.
