The Village of Croton-on-Hudson is seeking an intermediate clerk in the Justice Court. The hours for the position will be 12 hours a week: Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a half-hour lunch break. The hourly rate for this position is $20/hour.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and be ability to learn other software applications needed to perform court duties.
Job duties include working with the public and enforcement agencies, administrative tasks with attention to detail, multi-taking and ability to maintain confidentiality.

VILLAGE SEEKS PART-TIME FIRE INSPECTOR
The Village of Croton-on-Hudson is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Fire Inspector. The regular hours for the position will be 14 hours a week, with the opportunity for additional hours as needed. The hourly wage for this position will be $25 to $30 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting multi-family buildings and assembly spaces for fire hazards, issuing notices of violations as appropriate, and investigating premises after fires.
The minimum acceptable training and experience include a high school diploma and three years of experience as a volunteer or paid firefighter, a building inspector, or an assistant building inspector, as well as proof of completion of the minimum basic code enforcement training course.

A village advisory board that operates largely under the radar will advise the Board of Trustees on the "visual environment" of the 1 Half Moon Bay Drive project proposal.
The developers met with the Advisory Board on the Visual Environment on August 13 and said the project would not affect river views or other sight-lines. The board does not currently publish minutes.

On Tuesday evening, August 27, the owners of 1 Half Moon Bay Drive will hold an informational meeting about their proposed 280 unit development at Capriccio’s in the village. While this is not a village sponsored event, the owners were encouraged organize such sessions for the community by the Board at a meeting earlier this year, and the village has posted the event on its Web page.

NY GOP hopeful campaigns for transgender sports ban — and she could have lots of company
A Republican candidate for state senate is launching a campaign to bar biological males who identify as transgender from competing against females in athletics — and other GOP hopefuls are expected to jump on the bandwagon, too. Gina Arena, a mother of six girls who is running in the 40th District in the lower Hudson Valley, says the proposed “Equal Rights” amendment appearing on the November ballot will allow trans athletes to compete against females.
She is now putting up “Save Girls Sports” lawn signs throughout the district, a nod to her new campaign titled “Save Girls and Women Sports.” MORE AT NY POST HERE
