FROM THE VILLAGE---WEATHER ALERT---TORNADO WATCH ADVISORY ISSUED & CLOSURE OF ROUTE 129, ADDITIONAL ROAD AND OUTAGE INFO

Weather Alert: Tornado Watch, Wind Advisory Issued & Closure on Route 129
Posted on: August 9, 2024 - 1:54pm

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch, which is in effect until 10:00 PM EDT for Westchester County. A Tornado Watch is an alert issued when weather conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in a specific area. During a Tornado Watch, it's important to be prepared and stay alert in case conditions worsen. Monitor local news, weather radio, or weather apps for updates. Tornado Watches can escalate to Tornado Warnings, which indicate that a tornado has been spotted or is imminent.

Additionally, a Wind Advisory is in effect until 11:00 PM EDT today, with south winds of 15 to 20 mph and gusts up to 40 mph expected in southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey, and southeast New York. Please be aware that gusty winds may cause unsecured objects to blow around, down tree limbs, and potentially result in power outages. Use extra caution, especially while driving, and secure any outdoor items.

FROM THE GREAT DOUGLAS MURRAY, RIOTS IN BRITAIN SHOULD BE WARNING TO US

If one of your allies starts to fall apart, you should notice it. And learn why.

This past week, Great Britain has been racked with riots and disorder. In Northern Ireland, Protestants and Catholics even came out to riot alongside each other for once.

What has gone on has huge lessons for America. And our politicians here should take note.

The disorder in Britain began after three girls, ages 6, 7 and 9, were stabbed to death as they took part in a Taylor Swift-themed dance party. In the immediate aftermath, locals in Southport were shocked, angry and looking for someone to blame.

In the UK, as in America, the authorities do not just release information about suspects and culprits. They “manage” the release.  MORE AT Riots in Britain should be warning to US (nypost.com)
