All parents and adult community members are invited to join the Cortlandt Community Coalition for a presentation by adolescent psychologist, youth substance use researcher and Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Kevin Gray.
Amid a shifting legal, policy, and public opinion landscape, we are all faced with an array of mixed messages regarding marijuana. This is particularly challenging when navigating approaches to messaging for youth, who are most vulnerable to adverse outcomes related to marijuana use. Join Dr. Gray for a scientific update on what is known about cannabis and cannabinoids that will specifically focus on the implications of use during adolescent development. Learn strategies for talking with teens to prevent youth marijuana use before it starts, and to intervene when marijuana use is suspected.
