URGENT--WHITE HOUSE EFFORTS TO CENSOR COVID VACCINE SKEPTICS IN 2021 WERE EVEN WORSE THAN PREVIOUSLY KNOWN

Facebook's own executives believed the company had been forced to remove posts it shouldn't have. At the heart of these unconstitutional efforts: one Andrew M. Slavitt.

ALEX BERENSON

By July 2021, Biden Administration pressure to censor Covid vaccine skeptics had grown so harsh Facebook executives believed the administration wanted the company to remove any “content that provides any negative information on or opinions about the vaccine.”

And Facebook’s executives admitted internally that intimidation from the White House had caused the company to censor posts that it should have allowed.

“We were under pressure from the administration,” a Facebook employee emailed to Nick Clegg, a senior company executive, after he asked why the company had censored the Covid lab leak theory. “We shouldn’t have done it.”

(PLEASE HELP ME FIGHT CENSORSHIP! SUPPORT BERENSON V. BIDEN WITH A SUBSCRIPTION TO UNREPORTED TRUTHS!)

The Facebook documents reveal a White House completely unconcerned with the First Amendment implications of its censorship efforts.

For months, senior White House officials, led by Andy Slavitt, had demanded that the company remove posts they did not like, the emails show. The pressure only increased in July and August 2021, as the mRNA jabs failed, Delta Covid infections accelerated, and the White House began to consider very divisive vaccine mandates.

The documents were released Thursday and Friday by the Congressional committee investigating government efforts to censor social media.   MORE AT

TRANS SWIMMER ALLOWED TO UNDRESS NEXT TO BIOLOGICAL WOMEN---AND FEMALES WHO COMPLAINED WERE TOLD TO GET "RE-EDUCATED"

Story by Sam Montgomery • 5h ago----Trans swimmer 'allowed to undress next to biological women' - and females who complained were told to get 'reeducated'© GB News (US)

Former teammates of successful trans swimmer, Lia Thomas, have spoken out over their discomfort at having to undress next to her "18 times a week".

A highly contentious issue in America’s culture wars, the debate over trans participation in women’s sport has spilled over from the pool and into the locker room.

Addressing the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday, Thomas’ former teammate and NCAA Division I swimmer, Paula Scanlan, told lawmakers that complaints fell on deaf ears.

Scanlan said: “My teammates and I were forced to undress in the presence of Lia, a 6-foot-4 tall, biological male, with fully intact male genitalia, 18 times per week.

“Some girls opted to change in bathroom stalls and others used the family bathroom to avoid this.”

When teammates raised the issue with the university, Scanlan says they were offered counselling to “reeducate” with the intention of making them “comfortable with the idea of undressing in front of a male”.

Addressing the committee meeting, called The Dangers and Due Process Violations of Gender-Affirming Care, Scanlan said: “To sum up the university's response, we, the women, were the problem, not the victims. NY blasts utilities over solar billing troubles, threatens hefty fines--Thomas C. Zambito--New York State Team

The head of New York’s Public Service Commission is warning the state’s utilities to fix the billing troubles they created for tens of thousands of solar energy customers by the end of the year — or else.

In a letter to the state’s utilities, PSC chairman and CEO Rory Christian said billing issues with so-called Community Distributed Generation (CDG) has “reached a critical juncture,” as the state continues to field complaints from customers.

Utility customers who signed up for CDG thinking they were tapping into a green energy source while saving on electric bills have been left frustrated by overcharges and bills that arrive late, forcing many to drop out. HOW A FEDERAL JUDGE TURNED THE TABLES ON HUNTER'S PLEA DEAL, WILL SCHARF

Judge Noreika knew lawyers were trying to paint her into a corner and hide the ball while forcing her to rubber-stamp their absurd bargain BY WILL SCHARF

Hunter Biden arrived in a Delaware federal court on Wednesday morning expecting that, in a few short hours, he would walk out a free man with full immunity from prosecution for an exceedingly wide range of alleged criminal conduct, ranging from gun and drug charges to foreign influence peddling. His expectation was that his deal would be insulated from challenges from the presiding judge, or from a prosecutorial change of heart under a future administration. His expectation was that his legal ordeals were coming to a close.

Instead, U.S. District Court Judge Maryellen Noreika picked apart his plea deal with surgical precision, exposing its legal contradictions, and upbraiding both defense counsel and the Department of Justice for structuring an unprecedented deal that in her view — and mine — was illegal and unconstitutional.

I have reviewed the hearing transcript from Wednesday’s aborted change of plea hearing, as well as the agreed-to plea agreement and pretrial diversion agreement that Hunter thought were his salvation. MORE AT How A Federal Judge Turned The Tables On Hunter's Plea Deal (thefederalist.com)

NEW FROM EFSP---THE MARX BROTHERS

The Marx Brothers was the name for a group of American-Jewish comedians from the first half of the 20th century who were actually brothers. Their career started in theatre, but they became world-famous through their films. They are known for their wild, anarchic and often surrealist humour. Their jokes consist of slapstick, but also puns and intelligent dialogue. With their rebellious jokes, they were the forerunners of generations of anti-sentimental comedians. Five brothers together formed The Marx Brothers, even though the five of them never actually performed at the same time: Harpo, Chico, Groucho, Gummo and Zeppo.  READ AND SEE MORE AT European Film Star Postcards: The Marx Brothers
