Arrivederci, Il Cinema Ritrovato!

It was only last week that we saw dozens of classic and unknown films from the archives in Bologna during Il Cinema Ritrovato 2022. In the Piazza Maggiore, we rediscovered Bernardo Bertolucci's Il Conformista (1970), introduced by Stefania Sandrelli. Another highlight was Erich von Stroheim's magnificently restored Foolish Wives (1922), accompanied by an excellent orchestra. It was a great week! Today on EFSP, a selection of the wonderful programme cards that the Cineteca Bologna makes every year. Then follows a post by Ivo Blom with vintage postcards he found at the Mostra Mercato dell'editoria cinematografica, the book fair of the festival. IN THE NEWS: SHUTDOWN DC PROTEST GROUP OFFERS "BOUNTIES" FOR INFO ON WHERE CONSERVATIVE JUSTICES ARE LOCATED

A liberal protest group is offering cash to anyone who sees the conservative justices of the Supreme Court and provides their location.

The justices targeted by the group ShutDownDC are John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barrett. The group tweeted that it is willing to give "$50 to anyone who gives a confirmed sighting and $200 if the Justice or Justices are in the same area 30 minutes after their location is given."

iN THE NEWS: WHITE HOUSE STILL "CANNOT COMMENT" ON VALIDITY OF HUNTER BIDEN'S LAPTOP

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre repeatedly refused to answer questions about Hunter Biden's laptop Tuesday despite the tranche of new information reported on in recent weeks.  The Washington Examiner has verified the authenticity of the laptop's contents in the ensuing months after they were first released in late 2020. Recently revealed information obtained from the laptop includes a voicemail left by President Joe Biden on his son's phone in 2018 that indicates he discussed and had knowledge of Hunter's business dealings despite the president's claims. READ MORE HERE.
