ACTOR TONY SIRICO, PAULIE WALNUTS ON THE SOPRANOS, HAS DIED

Actor Tony Sirico — best know for his role as Paulie Walnuts on “The Sopranos” — is dead, his brother, Robert, announced on Facebook on Friday. He was 79.

​”It is with great sadness, but with incredible pride, love and a whole lot of fond memories, that the family of Gennaro Anthony “Tony” Sirico wishes to inform you of his death on the morning of July 8, 2022,” the priest wrote along with a picture of Sirico. Safety Alert: Briarcliff Manor PD issues warning for man posing as delivery person

Briarcliff Manor police say a man who may be pretending to be a delivery person is also a person of interest in an investigation. Police released a picture of the man and say that if the man stops by your door to keep your door closed and get in touch with police. 1911 HOLBROOK BLINN, EDGAR SELWYN AND MARGARET MAYO

Stumbled upon  this 1911 Popular Mechanics page which features Holbrook Blinn, Margaret Mayo and her husband Edgar Selwyn---"working" on Blinn's Croton home.

For those who don't know, Holbrook Blinn (of Blinn Road fame) was a very well known silent film star, performer, producer and director of plays at the Princess Theatre.  Click on the images below which also mention Holbrook's performance in THE BOSS---the film version---which is considered lost--was made in 1915 but Blinn had appeared in the stage production a few years earlier.

FROM THE PATCH----CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — A program to create or preserve 864 affordable homes in 16 separate developments across New York has awarded $3 million for 41-51 Maple in Croton-on-Hudson.

The project will feature 33 apartments across two buildings targeting a wide range of incomes. Regan Development Corporation was selected as the designated developer of the village-owned property. The development consists primarily of two- and three-bedroom units in the village, which state officials called "a well-resourced community with a high-performing school district." A popular spot in the Hudson Valley close to where Sesame Street characters searched for a "hidden treasure" is closed to the public "until further notice."
