JACK PHILLIPS APPEALS TRANS CAKE CASE TO COLORADO SUPREME COURT

Jack Phillips appeals trans cake case to Colorado Supreme Court
By Michael Gryboski, Mainline Church Editor

Colorado baker Jack Phillips has appealed to the state supreme court after a lower court ruled that the devout Christian violated discrimination law by refusing to create a cake celebrating a trans-identified individual's gender transition.

The Alliance Defending Freedom filed an appeal with the Colorado Supreme Court on Thursday on Phillips' behalf, arguing that Phillips and his business, Masterpiece Cakeshop, should have the right to refuse to make cakes that celebrate things that go against Phillips' beliefs.

In the appeal filing, the legal nonprofit argued that the appeals court's January decision against Phillips "conflicts with other Colorado appeals court decisions interpreting" the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act.

"Worse, it wrongly treats Phillips' lawful, message-based decision as illegal, status-based discrimination," reads the filing.  MORE AT Jack Phillips appeals trans cake case to Colorado Supreme Court | U.S. News (christianpost.com)

ON THE CONTINUED COLLAPSE OF OUR BELOVED SAN FRANCISCO---TARGET PUTS ALL OF ITS PRODUCTS ON LOCKDOWN AMID SHOPLIFTING CRISIS

A San Francisco Target store has been putting all of its products on lockdown amid a shoplifting crisis that has crippled retailers in the Golden Gate City.

Footage of the store’s interior posted to TikTok Thursday showed aisle after aisle of toiletries and cosmetics under lock and key in the megachain.

While it’s common for stores to lock up small valuable items like razors, heaps of inexpensive large items like mouthwash, shampoo and lotion were also being kept out of reach from the grubby hands of would-be shoplifters, the clip showed.  MORE AT
