HOWARD DA SILVA & DAVID WAYNE IN THE 1951 FILM NOIR "M"

Stumbled across these items for "M"--the 1951 version----starring Croton's HOWARD DA SILVA AND DAVID WAYNE.

TRIGGER ALERT---M is a 1951 American film noir directed by Joseph Losey. It is a remake of Fritz Lang's 1931 German film of the same name about a child murderer. This version shifts the location of action from Berlin to Los Angeles and changes the killer's name from Hans Beckert to Martin W. Harrow. Both versions of M were produced by Seymour Nebenzal, whose son, Harold, was associate producer of the 1951 version.

The film was restored in 2015, with Harold Nebenzal as Executive Producer of the restoration.

Plot---Martin W. Harrow (David Wayne) is a compulsive child-murderer, and the public demands of the mayor and police that he be caught. The police start a crackdown on criminal operations, dive bars and hangouts in the city, hoping that the murderer will turn up in one of the many raids. This pressure is preventing the city's crime syndicate from doing business, and its boss, Marshall (Martin Gabel), organizes his forces to find and stop the murderer so that the police will stop the crackdown and Marshall can go back to business as usual. Meanwhile, Police Inspector Carney (Howard Da Silva) has a psychiatrist examining patients who have been released from mental hospitals as possible suspects.

8 STRAIGHT-FIRE QUOTES FROM NEIL GORSUCH'S DEFENSE OF FREE SPEECH IN 303 CREATIVE --SHAWN FLEETWOOD

8 STRAIGHT-FIRE QUOTES FROM NEIL GORSUCH'S DEFENSE OF FREE SPEECH IN 303 CREATIVE --SHAWN FLEETWOOD

Justice Neil Gorsuch offered a straight-fire defense of free speech and religious liberty in the U.S. Supreme Court’s 303 Creative v. Elenis decision on Friday, which represented a major win for Americans’ First Amendment rights.

As The Federalist’s Jordan Boyd reported, the high court ruled that the government cannot force Colorado graphic artist Lorie Smith to “make wedding websites celebrating same-sex couples because it would violate her constitutional right to exercise her Christian belief that marriage is between a man and a woman.” The high court further noted that such state-enforced coercion is a violation of Smith’s First Amendment rights.

Writing for the majority, Gorsuch left little doubt the current court has a vested interest in defending Americans’ rights to free speech and religious liberty. Here’s a list detailing eight of his best lines from the opinion. READ MORE AT  8 Fire Quotes From Gorsuch In Landmark Free Speech Case (thefederalist.com)

ALEX BERENSON, TWITTER, RAV ARORA

The insanity of the media blackout on my win over Twitter--Finally someone wrote about it. Not in a major media outlet, of course. In a Substack. Still, I'm glad to see at least ONE other journalist has taken note.

ALEX BERENSON--JUN 29, 2023

An except from the Substack piece, from Rav Arora, a freelancer (he briefly explains his own story in it):

Vaccines may be an untouchable third rail, but a journalist’s free speech suppressed by social media suppressed is certainly newsworthy.

Or so I thought.
