MULTI-FAITH COALITION OF IMMIGRANT PARENTS PROTEST MARYLAND PUBLIC SCHOOLS' WOKE SEX ED

BY: ASRA Q. NOMANI--JUNE 28, 2023--‘Respect the rights of families to share their culture and religion with their children, sons and daughters,’ she translated, adding, ‘It’s a basic right.’

ROCKVILLE, Md.—Here at the crossroads of Mannakee Street and College Drive in the suburbs of the nation’s capital, woke intersectionalism came to die.

Outside the headquarters of Montgomery County Public Schools, a cleric at a local Ethiopian Orthodox church stood in a white turban, gold-colored robe, and church insignia. Like Seyouman Getahun was in an interfaith crowd of about 1,000 parents, students, and community members. The crowd of largely “brown and black” people, as equity warriors so often colorize minorities, rallied for the right of parents to opt children out of age-inappropriate sex education in local public schools.

Co-organized by a new group called Coalition of Virtue, these parents are the “intersectional” answer to the Woke Army. The Woke Army are the leftist activists who exploit “black, indigenous, people of color” (BIPOC) to put children in the crosshairs of the “rainbow mafia” in K-12 schools. These parents who defy their stereotypes are the Woke Army’s worst nightmare.

Hundreds of Ethiopian Orthodox Christians from an estimated 40 local churches, including Getahun’s, rallied beside Muslim immigrant families from a dozen mosques and other area community members. Their ranks included a Filipino-Puerto Rican-American Christian dad and a Peruvian-American Catholic mother.

All were here to protest the refusal of the local school board, all affiliated at some point with Democratic Party politics, to allow parents to opt their kids out of sex ed that includes an introduction to homosexual behavior and gender identities that contradict one’s natural sex.  MORE AT Immigrant Parents Protest Maryland Public Schools’ Woke Sex Ed (thefederalist.com)

County In Hudson Valley Advances Legislation To Stop NYC From Sending Migrants

A county in the Hudson Valley is moving to advance legislation that would prevent other municipalities, including New York City, from sending migrants and asylum seekers to facilities within its borders. The legislation was presented by Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne during a meeting held by the Putnam County Legislature's Rules Committee, county officials announced on Tuesday, June 27.

During the meeting, the committee unanimously voted to advance this legislation, which would prevent outside municipalities from housing members of its homeless population, migrants, and asylum seekers at temporary residency-permitted facilities in Putnam County without first agreeing with the county.

According to county officials, the legislation would not prevent existing or future homeless shelters from operating within Putnam.

Additionally, the committee also advanced a resolution that would declare Putnam a "rule of law" county, which would definitively make it clear that the county is not a "sanctuary county," officials said. FURY AS TRANS WOMAN WHO MURDERED 3 IS SENT TO FEMALE PRISON AFTER "HATE CRIME'

No one really knows what made Dana Rivers, a pioneering transgender activist who was once a respected high school teacher, snap and brutally murder a married lesbian couple and their adopted son at their Oakland, California, home just after midnight on Nov. 11, 2016.

But last week, seven years on, after having been convicted of the killings in November, Rivers was sentenced to life in prison without parole and sent to a California state women’s prison — creating a new flashpoint over transgender prisoners, and sparking anger among activists.

Rivers had been in a county jail until the sentencing, but was sent to the Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla, a beneficiary of a California law which took effect in 2021, allowing prisoners to request that their gender identity decides where they are held-- MORE AT .Fury as trans woman who murdered three is sent to female prison after 'hate crime' (nypost.com)

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN---1947--ASTHMADOR

Welcome to The New Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Our popular series continues -- CLICK ON THE IMAGE TO READ ABOUT ASTHMADOR--1947--Asthmador was a nonprescription treatment for the relief of bronchial asthma made by the R. Schiffmann Company.

It consisted of a mixture of belladonnastramonium and potassium perchlorate,[1] and was a fine powder intended to be burned and the smoke inhaled. The primary alkaloid present in the mixture was hyoscyamine, and when the powder was ingested rather than burned, could be used to induce hallucinations. In severe overdose it could hospitalize the patient or cause death.  Prior to the introduction of rescue inhalers in the mid-1950s this was an effective over-the-counter remedy for asthma attacks. Asthmador was sold in packets like cigarettes, in tins like pipe tobacco, or as an incense. The paroxysms would abate within a few minutes of inhaling the mixture. Asthmador - Wikipedia

NYC MIGRANT CRISIS REACHES NEW MILESTONE--NBC NEW YORK

A new milestone in NYC's migrant crisis: There are now more asylum seekers living in city shelters than there are homeless New Yorkers.  The tipping point took place Sunday, when 50,000 migrants were in the City's care, outnumbering the 49,700 local shelter residents.  Among the takeaways: the NYC shelter system has essentially doubled in size, due to the influx, mostly from Latin American countries including Venezuela, Ecuador and Colombia.  MORE AT https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/nyc-housing-more-asylum-seekers-than-homeless-nyers-in-migrant-crisis-first/4455469/
