CATHOLIC STUDENT SUES FAIRFAX SCHOOL BOARD OVER TRANSGENDER PROTECTIONS

A Fairfax County Public Schools student is suing the school board, sayings its policy aimed at protecting the rights of transgender students violate the rights of others and violates the state constitution.

The lawsuit was filed by the conservative group America First Legal — founded by former Donald Trump adviser Stephen Miller — on behalf of an unnamed Fairfax high school senior. It alleges that the school district’s policy, which allows students to use facilities that match their gender identity and requires the use of a student’s chosen pronouns and name, are “fundamentally at odds with her religious beliefs” as a practicing Roman Catholic. The UK’s first transgender national news anchor has reported “Harry Potter” author JK Rowling to the police for “misgendering” her as a “man” on social media.

India Willoughby, 58, reported having “contacted Northumbria Constabulary” over a series of X posts Sunday by the outspoken author.

Rowling, also 58, called Willoughby “just a man reveling in his misogynistic performance of what he thinks ‘woman’ means: narcissistic, shallow and exhibitionist.”

SERVICE INFO AND OBITUARY FOR BARBARA ANN ALBANO

Barbara Ann Albano, a resident of Garrison, NY, passed away on March 5, 2024. She was 82 years old. Barbara was born on April 18, 1941 in Peekskill, NY to the late John and Mary (Francis) Loconto. Before her retirement, she worked as a secretary for Maryknoll in Ossining, NY.

Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She would beam with pride extolling the various academic and sporting achievements of all her grandchildren no matter how great or small. LOHUD----After hundreds of battery-related fires caused multiple deaths in New York City last year, state legislators are pushing for additional protections against rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.

Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie announced the Assembly's passage Wednesday of five bills aimed at protecting New Yorkers as fire departments across the state have reported a rise in fires caused by the batteries.
