OBITUARY AND SERVICE INFO FOR DAVID BRUCE LAEMMEL

David Bruce Laemmel, a life-long resident of Croton-on-Hudson, passed away on July 20, 2022, at the age of 57. He was born on May 14, 1965, in Greenwich, Conn. He grew up in a house near the Reservoir with his parents, Gloria and Bill Laemmel, his sister Margaret (Peggy), and brothers Billy and Bart. He also had an American Field Service sister, Magui Sanchez from Ecuador, and a brother, Pietro Piga from Italy. He loved being a boy scout, camping, fishing, lacrosse, skiing, music, and playing the drums with his band Dakota.

Bruce attended Croton schools graduating in 1983 from Croton-Harmon high school. He attended the University of Hartford graduating with a BA in Communications. After college he then made his home in Croton building his business, Laemmel’s Lawns to Landscapes, designing and maintaining beautiful landscapes throughout the town and Westchester. In 1997 he met his wife, Jennifer Brown. They were married in 2001 and have three children Cooper, Bryce, and Sophie.

Bruce adored his family. He spent countless hours with his children, fishing, four-wheeling, riding motor bikes, hiking, skiing and coaching their sports teams. He always had a word of encouragement for them and taught them to love nature and be kind to others always.

Bruce was a dedicated member of the Croton community. He volunteered many years for the village on the Conservation Advisory Council, participating in Earth Day with tree distribution, organizing the planting of daffodils to commemorate 9/11, and planting town gardens and the Christmas tree at the end of Benedict Blvd. He was an assistant Scout master with Boy Scout Troop 28 and assisted many youth with their Eagle Scout projects. He loved to travel and saw many parts of the world and the United States. He was for many years a dedicated volunteer for the Run Against Hunger. He served in leadership roles in the United Methodist and was an active member of the St Augustine Episcopal church in Croton.

He was a devoted husband and father, spending weekends dirt biking, skiing, camping, fishing, and sharing his love of music with them. He was also a devoted uncle, always willing to include his nieces and nephews, as well as the neighborhood kids, in activities such as building skateboard ramps.

Bruce touched everyone he met with his smile (his nick name in high school was “sunshine”) and his positive, can-do attitude. He was always looking for the best in people and in a situation.

He is preceded in death by his father, William D. Laemmel, and his AFS sister, Magui. He is survived by his wife Jennifer, his children Cooper, Bryce, and Sophie, and his mother Gloria, who all live in Croton. Also his siblings Peggy (Staten Island), Billy and Bart (Colorado), and Pietro (Italy).

Burial services will be private. A celebration of his life will be planned for a future date. David Laemmel Obituary - Croton-On-Hudson, NY (dignitymemorial.com)

IN THE NEWS - AT LAST, AN ADMISSION FROM DR. BIRX: I KNEW THE COVID VACCINES WOULDN'T PROTECT AGAINST INFECTION

Former White House COVID response coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx has admitted that she knew COVID-19 vaccines would not prevent infection.

During the administration of President Joe Biden, intense pressure has been put on individuals to be vaccinated against the coronavirus on the grounds that they were group responsible for spreading the virus — a “pandemic of the unvaccinated,” as Biden has put it.

That philosophy underpinned vaccine mandates supported by the Biden administration that upended employers and the military.  Birx, the coordinator of the White House Coronavirus Task Force under former President Donald Trump, said faith that the vaccines created a wall of protection was misplaced – and she knew it.  MORE FROM THE WESTERN JOURNAL HERE.
