WASHINGTON POST FOUND A LOT OF HAPPY TRANSGENDER PEOPLE, IF YOU DON'T COUNT THOSE WHO'VE COMMITTED SUICIDE

EDDIE SCARRY--The Washington Post must be very proud of itself for tackling one of the biggest problems with the transgender debate (lack of data) and concocting a chipper outcome (most trans people are happy!).

On Thursday the paper published what it called “one of the largest randomized samples of U.S. transgender adults to date about their childhoods, feelings and lives.” The survey took place last year from Nov. 10 to Dec. 1, among 515 U.S. adults who identify as trans and another 823 U.S. adults who did not.

There were a lot of depressing statistics about respondents who are less likely than regular people to say their childhoods were happy and who are more likely to say they often feel anxious. But the ultimate takeaway was that the vast majority of those who said they had “transitioned” away from their natural sex, 78 percent, were “more satisfied” with their lives than before the transition process.

That’s great news for the Post and the rest of the national media trans-champions because it would mean that all the concern and controversy over people who want to irreversibly alter their bodies and appearances with hormones and surgical operations is about nothing!

See? This isn’t about mental illness. Transitioning is real and they’re happier for it! MORE AT WaPo Found Happy Trans People Who Haven't Committed Suicide (thefederalist.com)

IN THE NEWS---GEORGIA, IOWA, OVERCOME NEAR-UNANIMOUS DEMOCRAT OPPOSITION TO BAN CHILD MUTILATION SURGERIES

BY: VICTORIA MARSHALL MARCH 23, 2023

Republican Georgia and Iowa lawmakers sent bills banning sex-change procedures for minors to their governors’ desks this week. Iowa has passed its bill into law, while Georgia’s bill awaits Gov. Brian Kemp’s signature. Kemp has not said whether he’ll sign it.

Georgia Senate Bill 140, which passed along party lines, prohibits injecting children with hormones and surgically mutilating their bodies “for the treatment of gender dysphoria.” Doctors may still be able to prescribe puberty-blocking drugs, however, as the bill only blocks “irreversible procedures or therapies.” Puberty blockers do inflict irreversible physical damage, but their proponents claim otherwise. NEWS 12--TRUMP GRAND JURY HEARING OTHER MATTERS THURSDAY

AP source: Trump grand jury hearing other matters Thursday The Manhattan grand jury investigating Donald Trump over hush money payments planned to hear testimony on other matters Thursday, seemingly further delaying a vote on whether or not to indict the former president, according to a person familiar with the matter.  There was no immediate explanation for why the grand jury, which did not meet at all on Wednesday, would not take up the Trump matter during its scheduled Thursday session.  MORE AT AP source: Trump grand jury hearing other matters Thursday (news12.com)

EDUCATION ISSUES---FAIRFAX, AGAIN--PUBLIC SCHOOLS VIOLATE EXECUTIVE ORDERS BY HIDING "WHITE GUILT" LESSON PLANS FROM PARENTS, SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING

Fairfax Public Schools Violate Executive Orders By Hiding ‘White Guilt’ Lesson Plans From Parents BY: STEPHANIE LUNDQUIST-ARORA
MARCH 23, 2023

Last Thursday, not long after a BB gun fell on the floor during a fight at Annandale High School, a suspected fentanyl overdose at Fairfax High School, and the choking of a boy on a school bus, teachers at Irving Middle School delivered a “social emotional learning” lesson on “white privilege.” The lesson, with no opt-out process, was in clear violation of Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s Executive Order One banning divisive concepts in K-12 education.

Unbeknownst to me, my son was one of the students who received the divisive lesson. It just so happened the school neglected to inform his parents. MORE AT VA School Violates Youngkin EO By Teaching White Guilt (thefederalist.com)

The Jewish Museum - The exhibition highlights the Sassoon family’s pioneering role in trade, art collecting, architectural patronage, and civic engagement from the early 19th century through World War II through over 120 works—paintings, decorative arts, illuminated manuscripts, and Judaica—amassed by family members and borrowed from numerous private and public collections. Highlights include Hebrew manuscripts from as early as the 12th century, many lavishly decorated; Chinese art and ivory carvings; rare Jewish ceremonial art; Western masterpieces including paintings by Thomas Gainsborough, and Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, and magnificent portraits by John Singer Sargent of various Sassoon family members. The Sassoons explores themes such as discrimination, diaspora, colonialism, global trade, and war that not only shaped the history of the family but continue to define our world today.----more at The Jewish Museum

NEW FROM EFSP--TEODORA

Teodora (1921)--The Italian silent epic Teodora/Theodora (Leopoldo Carluccio, 1921) about the life of Theodora, Empress of Byzantium, who began life as a liontamer's daughter and worked her way up from courtesan to empress of the Roman empire, alongside Emperor Justinian. The film was based on a play by Victorien Sardou which had been a triumph for Sarah Bernhardt in 1884. The production of the film, starring American-born British actress of French descent, Rita Jolivet, slowly proceeeded because of various economical problems and censorship. When the film finally premiered it was a huge success thanks to the performance of Jolivet and Armando Brasini's gigantic sets.
