THE LESSON OF JORDAN NEELY--YOUR COURAGE AND SACRIFICE WILL BE PUNISHED--THE FEDERALIST

The Lesson Of Jordan Neely: Your Courage And Sacrifice Will Be Punished
BY: PEACHY KEENAN--MAY 05, 2023

This week, a brave Marine acted when no one else would to restrain a deranged homeless schizophrenic on a New York City F train who was, by all accounts, terrorizing people and shouting “I’ll hurt anyone on this train.”

“‘I don’t mind going to jail and getting life in prison,’ screamed the 30-year-old Jordan Neely, who had 44 arrests under his belt and an outstanding warrant for felony assault (he punched an old woman in the face), as he flailed around throwing items of his clothing. ‘I’m ready to die!’ In response, a 24-year-old Marine Corps veteran put Neely in a chokehold, incapacitating him and releasing him after he stopped struggling and passed out,” Inez Stepman wrote.  READ MORE AT No Country For Brave Men (thefederalist.com)

NYC plans to send new immigrants to Rockland, Orange. 'We will not stand for it,' Day says--Chris McKenna Nancy Cutler--Rockland/Westchester Journal News

Rockland County Executive Ed Day on Friday warned New York City Mayor Eric Adams not to bus migrants here, calling any plan to do so “absurd” and saying the county “will not stand for it.”

Adams' office confirmed the city will temporarily house asylum seekers at hotels in Rockland and Orange counties due to the huge influx New York City has been struggling to manage. He said they were all single men, and said the placements were the start of a program that the city could expand. Read more at Immigrant relocation to Rockland, Orange planned by NYC. SCRAPPED---HOLCHUL'S HOUSING COMPACT---FORCED REZONING

Housing Compact Scrapped as Albany Approves FY 2024 Budget

May 4, 2023 Martin Wilbur

The Fiscal Year 2024 budget was passed on Tuesday but it was completed without the governor’s Housing Compact.

One of the most controversial items during this year’s state budget season was removed by Gov. Kathy Hochul about two weeks ago. Hochul’s initiative to build 800,000 new units of housing throughout the state appears done for this year after intense pushback from both sides of the aisle.

In a statement released by her office after the Housing Compact was pulled from the spending plan, Hochul said many communities throughout the state opposed growth targets. She also questioned whether offering municipalities incentives, which had been proposed by numerous legislators, including some locally, would be effective.

“We have not yet come to a final agreement, but it remains clear that merely providing incentives will not make the meaningful change that New Yorkers deserve,” Hochul said. “I will continue to discuss other elements of the plan and policy changes that will increase supply and make housing more affordable.”

Part of the governor’s rationale for the plan is that by sharply increasing housing stock prices would fall.

However, Hochul’s transit-oriented development requirement that would have forced a rezoning and allowed up to 50 housing units per acre within a half-mile radius of a train station, generated the fiercest opposition.  MORE AT Housing Compact Scrapped as Albany Approves FY 2024 Budget (theexaminernews.com)

BIDEN ADMIN BACKS DOWN IN BATTLE OVER CATHOLIC HOSPITAL'S CHAPEL CANDLE

The Biden administration is rescinding its threat to strip a Catholic hospital system in Oklahoma of federal accreditation if it didn't remove a sacred candle in a hospital chapel.

The Department of Health and Human Service (HHS) informed Saint Francis Health System on Friday that it was backing down from its prior threats and that it was free to keep the sanctuary candle lit, according to The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, a law firm representing the hospital system.

"The government has seen the light and has abandoned its attempt to force an Oklahoma hospital to blow out a small candle or stop serving elderly, disabled, and low-income patients," said Lori Windham, a vice president and senior counsel at Becket. "[HHS] has told Saint Francis that it can keep its living flame—a sacred candle housed in the hospital chapels."

"The government knew it was playing with fire — today it announced its decision to allow the living flame so Saint Francis can continue to serve God and its community, as it always has," Windham added.  MORE AT  Biden admin backs down in battle over Catholic hospital's chapel candle (msn.com)

FAUCI'S NEVER-ENDING VICTORY TOUR

What a dystopian nightmare watching “America’s Doctor” try to continue his Covid victory tour.

It is both shocking and unsurprising that he would do this despite leaving a generation of children with lower IQ scores, a US life expectancy which dropped three years in the span of two, hundreds of thousands of deaths from the vaccines amongst working-age Americans (threatening the life insurance industry), millions of vaccine injured, skyrocketing disability rates, an explosion of cancers, and suddenly plummeting birth rates. So I went after him.

Again. Maybe he will get the memo this time, particularly in light of the frosty receptions he has received of late from normally kid-gloved, obsequious interviewers. Enjoy.  READ MORE AT

The saga continues. former Westchester County Board of Legislators staffer Anand Singh was arrested Monday morning and charged with one count of attempted enticement of a minor, which carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison. The Complaint charges that Singh communicated with an individual, who he believed to be a 14-year-old girl, on Hily, a dating application, and via text message and made plans to meet the individual at an apartment building in New Jersey to engage in sexual activity. Singh was presented Monday morning before U.S. Magistrate Judge Judith C. McCarthy in White Plains federal court and detained pending a bail hearing on Wednesday, May 3rd.

Singh, who lives in Tarrytown, was apparently caught soliciting sex from who he thought was a 14-year-old girl in New Jersey. He was caught when he drove 2 1/2 hours to NJ to get with who he thought was an underage teen in December and it was allegedly brought to the attention to the BOL leadership, and nothing was done, until a YouTube video was made public by OBL, Wednesday, April 12th.  MORE AT Singh Arrested For Attempted Enticement Of A Minor, DA Hosted Panel On Child Predators In January, Borgia Didn't Fire Him Until April When Video Surfaced - Black Westchester Magazine

DOZENS OF SCHOOL DISTRICTS EMBRACE "EQUITABLE GRADING"--- SETTING UP STUDENTS FOR FAILURE

No child enjoys homework, tests, or the hours one must put in to do well on both. But these tasks are vital to education — and not just for academic reasons. It is through the mundane work of learning that children learn self-discipline and, more importantly, the lesson that success is not given, but earned.

Small wonder, then, that educators are now doing away with these tools. Self-discipline is just another form of white supremacy, according to the Left, as is the idea that people must actually work for what they want. Thus, testing, grades, and any other form of academic rigor are being discarded as outdated symptoms of systemic racism.  Read more at Dozens of school districts embrace 'equitable grading,' setting up students for failure (washingtonexaminer.com)
