1971--THE HOMECOMING: A CHRISTMAS STORY

A Little Television Triva by special request----The television film The Homecoming: A Christmas Story was broadcast on December 19, 1971.  Based on its success, the CBS television network ordered the first season of episodes (to be based on the same characters) and that became the television series The Waltons. Beginning in September 1972, the series aired on CBS for nine seasons in total. After the series was canceled in 1981, three television film sequels aired in 1982 on NBC, with three more in the 1990s on CBS.  CLICK ON THE PHOTO TO SEE A VINTAGE BOARD GAME FOR THE SHOW,  READ MORE AT The Waltons - Wikipedia

PATTON: ANOTHER ONE FOR YOUR MOVIE BUCKET LIST

Just watched Patton with George C. Scott.  An excellent film with stellar performances.  It is one for your movie bucket list--available on (2718) George S Patton Movie - YouTube

Patton's legacy is controversial. However, a neighbor who served under his command, said he was loved and respected by his men.  His colorful image, hard-driving personality, and success as a commander were at times overshadowed by his controversial public statements. His philosophy of leading from the front, and his ability to inspire troops with attention-getting, vulgarity-laden speeches, such as his famous address to the Third Army, was received favorably by his troops, but much less so by a sharply divided Allied high command.
