OUR ANNUAL EASTER POST - UPDATED: OF JELLYBEANS, PEEPS & CHOCOLATE BUNNIES!!!!!

As we approach the Easter jellybean and chocolate bunny season, the following links just somehow seemed right! Click on the photos and links.

--Old time candy just as you remember it and still around today--broken out by decade! We're staying away from the jaw breakers, taffy and Zagnut--owing to a lifetime of dental work! But candy buttons are still permissible! Old Fashioned and Retro Candy - Home of Candy you ate as a kid® (oldtimecandy.com)

AND THOSE SYRUPY FILLED WAX BOTTLES TOO! Click on the link and step back in time with OLD TIME CANDY

--NEXT UP, we just love the COLLECTING CANDY site. They have some of the most amazing vintage Easter items...like this 1974 LEAF'S EASTER CANDY BROCHURE; very quintessentially 1970's; lots of chocolate bunnies and such--see it here. And of course there was a time when Brach's Chocolates were king! Check out the 1972 BRACH'S EASTER CHOCOLATE CATALOG PAGES FROM COLLECTING CANDY HERE.

But by far our fave from COLLECTING CANDY...A MORE MODERN TAKE ON THE PROVERBIAL EASTER JELLY BEAN......"Back in the early 2000’s Just Born released a special Easter edition of their Mike and Ike candies called Mike and Ike Easter Treats".

READ AND SEE MORE ABOUT MIKE AND IKE EASTER TREATS---lord were these sweet--at COLLECTING CANDY HERE.

--And finally, it would not be Easter without the...PEEPS!  Peeps are produced by Just Born, a candy manufacturer founded in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, by Russian immigrant Sam Born (1891-1959).

In 1953, Just Born acquired the Rodda Candy Company and its marshmallow chick line, and replaced the painstaking process of hand-forming the chicks with mass production.....READ MORE ABOUT THEIR FASCINATING HISTORY HERE.
