TEMPLE ISRAEL STANDS WITH ISRAEL --On Friday evening, October 6, 2023, Temple Israel celebrated Simḥat Torah, a festival of rejoicing in the Torah. It was an evening of rejoicing in our community and our connection to the wisdom of our ancestors.

The next morning, we awakened to a darkened world as learned of the terrorist attack launched against Israel by Hamas. There are no words to capture the enormity of lives lost, hostages taken, and injuries incurred by civilians and the military. We condemn in the strongest terms possible these heinous, coordinated acts of terror perpetrated by Hamas. Inside the Islamic Jihad, the group blamed for the attack on a Gaza hospital

Published Oct. 18, 2023, 1:32 p.m. ETThe Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a lesser-known terrorist organization working in coordination with Hamas, has been blamed for a deadly attack on a hospital in Gaza City.

Hamas had claimed that an Israeli airstrike killed more than 500 people, including civilians seeking treatment, at the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital.

But Israeli officials refuted the claim and demonstrated that the blast at the hospital was caused by a misfired rocket launched by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
