NEW CROSS FOR THE CHAPEL OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD & 1971 BLAST FROM THE PAST

Welcome to The New Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton-on-Hudson: our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship -- in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

NEW CROSS FOR THE CHAPEL OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD

FROM THE 6/5/2022 HOLY NAME OF MARY BULLETIN, page 3: The old wooden cross on the Chapel of the Good Shepherd bell tower fell off recently due to rot. A brand-new cross constructed of tubular aluminum was installed Friday, May 27. Our thanks go to Dominick Giusti at Highland Welding Services, Inc. in Peekskill for designing and custom fabricating the new cross. We also wish to thank Chris Vasta at Westchester Coating for prepping and powder coating the new cross and Franzoso Contracting for installing the cross on the roof of the Chapel’s bell tower.

IN THE NEWS: MAJOR CORPORATE DONORS SILENT ON BLACK LIVES MATTER'S ALLEGED SELF-DEALING

Major corporations that made a show out of cutting checks to the national Black Lives Matter group in the aftermath of George Floyd's police killing in May 2020 now have nothing to say about the charity's alleged self-dealing.

SAYS CHARITYWATCH:

"As we saw with Bernie Madoff, once a few well-respected people or institutions invest their money into something, this lends credibility to it," Styron added. "It can cause people to let down their guard and abandon routine due diligence. They reason that if this or that company is donating to this particular charity, then it must have already been thoroughly vetted, so it's a safe bet for my company or me as an individual to donate to it, too."

"Relying on the wisdom of the crowd can sometimes have dire consequences, as we see here,"

A JUNE 2022 UPDATE ON THE CROTON EAGLE NEST

Welcome to The New Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

A JUNE 2022 UPDATE ON THE CROTON EAGLE NEST

As many of you know, the eagles were back again this year---nesting right here "in town".

It's funny how attached you get to knowing about their survival--------and with all the storms we've had over the last few weeks, our dedicated eagle watchers have been checking the site regularly.

Your editor is happy to report that all three juveniles have made it through the rainy season---though not all are pictured here (click on the photo for the biggest of the three preening in the sun. The other two seem to be largely sleeping in.)  They'll all be leaving the nest soon.  The parents are out fishing for breakfast.

There will be more photos.  You can see the April installment at  https://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2022/04/april-2022-breakfast-at-croton-eagle.html

Here they are, sliced and diced for easier reading. There will be more. Click on the images below. Lots of info about the village's churches at that time and much more.

IN THE NEWS: THE WEEK IN WHOPPERS: BIDEN'S "UNIFYING" RACE RIOTS, CNN'S INFLATION PROBLEM AND MORE

Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions

This statement:

“Two summers ago, in the middle of a pandemic, we saw protests across the nation the likes of which you hadn’t seen since the 1960s. They unified people of every race and generation. Athletes and sports leagues boycotted and postponed games. Companies and workers proclaimed ‘Black Lives Matter.’ Students staged solidarity walkouts.”  — President Biden, May 25

We say: Biden must have been in his basement in summer 2020. Peaceful protests quickly turned into riots and looting, and Americans took notice: Their support for Black Lives Matter fell 12 points between June and September 2020, per Pew. NPR’s headline on an Ipsos survey that same month: “Americans Increasingly Polarized When It Comes To Racial Justice Protests, Poll Finds.” MORE AT
