Venice: Raves for Woody Allen’s New Film, “Coup de Chance” from Variety, Wrap, UK Papers — And Standing Ovations by Roger Friedman - September 4, 2023 4:38 pm

The reviews are coming for Woody Allen’s “Coup de Chance” and they are raves. Mostly.

Variety, The Wrap, UK papers like The Guardian and The Telegraph are all — very rightly so — calling it Woody’s best movie in years. They’re right, too. It’s a tight 90 minute murder mystery with a surprise ending that will blow you away. There are also phenomenal performances.

As Woody and wife Soon Yi arrived in the theater, the place erupted in a standing ovation.

More than 60 Atlanta ‘Cop City’ activists indicted on RICO charges by Rachel Schilke, Breaking News Reporter--September 05, 2023 01:04 PM.........A total of 61 activists have been indicted on charges of violating the state’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. Some face additional charges of domestic terrorism and money laundering, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Most of those charged are not residents of Georgia. Zaza is a 1923 American silent romantic drama film directed and produced by Allan Dwan, and starring Gloria Swanson. This film is based on the 1899 French play of the same name produced on Broadway by David Belasco and starring Mrs. Leslie Carter. The film was shot at Paramount's Astoria Studios in New York City. A previous film version was released by Paramount in 1915 starring Pauline Frederick. A third version, directed by George Cukor and starring Claudette Colbert, was released in 1939.
