Great game tonight. Patricia Lynch provides the photos and content---click on the images below:

Thursday night in the CHHS gymnasium brought a David and Goliath matchup between the Pelham and Croton-Harmon Girls Varsity Basketball teams.

Pelham stepped on the court as the single remaining undefeated team in Section 1. Pelham's 13-0 record did not deter the Tigers from playing 4 solid quarters of basketball.
In the fourth quarter, the Tigers took the lead with fast breaks, 3-point shots, free throws and intensive defensive play. Pelham got shook with minutes left to play as their undefeated season was in jeopardy. They could not recover.

The Tigers are operating at full tilt as we near the playoffs. Keep an eye out for their upcoming games and come out to support the team! Excellent job Tigers! Final score 36-29.

OBITUARY AND SERVICE INFO FOR CORINNE KURIE

Corinne Ann Kurie, a resident of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2023. She was 87. Corinne was born on November 19, 1935 in Lynn, Massachusetts to the late Joseph L. and Lillian N. (Whiteway) Doyle. She worked for over 30 years as a mobility instructor for the blind and visually impaired at Helen Keller Services for the Blind, in Brooklyn, NY.

As a young girl, she saw WWII troops and sailors heading out into the Atlantic from a beach near Boston. As a young woman, she sold her ‘57 Chevy (yes, a ‘57 Chevy!) for money to move to New York City. There she rented an apartment with her roommate, Joan, and they went on to have a fantastic best friend friendship for over 60 years. In the 1960’s, she marched for civil rights, women's rights and against the Vietnam War. Her career with the blind and visually impaired entailed teaching clients the NYC subway and bus system, travel for work or school and around their own neighborhoods. After retirement, she and her cat “Panda Kat” moved from Queens, NY to Croton-on-Hudson, NY where she saw her grandchildren grow into teenagers and then head off to college.

She is survived by her son David, daughter-in-law Jeannette and her two grandchildren Joelle and Renée.----at Corinne Kurie Obituary - Croton-On-Hudson, NY (dignitymemorial.com)

iN THE NEWS: INSIDE THE FACEBOOK FILES: EMAILS REVEAL THE CDC'S ROLE IN SILENCING COVID-19 DISSENT

From one of our favorite journalists: Inside the Facebook Files: Emails Reveal the CDC's Role in Silencing COVID-19 Dissent

Throughout the pandemic, the CDC was in constant contact with Facebook, vetting what users were allowed to say on the social media site.

ROBBY SOAVE | 1.19.2023 6:00 AM

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) played a direct role in policing permissible speech on social media throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Confidential emails obtained by Reason show that Facebook moderators were in constant contact with the CDC, and routinely asked government health officials to vet claims relating to the virus, mitigation efforts such as masks, and vaccines.
