She should know.

In recent months, we’ve seen a lot of public-health folks quietly rowing back their once-apocalyptic COVID advice and asking for forgiveness for the mistakes they made.

Well, to make mistakes is human, and to forgive them is divine.

But it’s easier to forgive human mistakes that aren’t pronounced using the Voice of God.

And deliberate misrepresentations don’t count as mistakes. Those count as lies, because that’s what they are.

In the early days of COVID, Anthony Fauci told the public that masks didn’t work.

It turned out that wasn’t based on the science of masks and COVID (there wasn’t any) but rather on a desire to preserve mask supplies for health workers.

A laudable goal, perhaps, but still a lie. And when the lie was uncovered, it cost credibility.

A federal judge issued an injunction Tuesday ruling that the Biden administration likely violated the First Amendment when it worked with social media companies to censor opposing views.  Calling the censorship “Orwellian,” Judge Terry A. Films on the Passion of Christ, starting with the Annunciation and ending with the Resurrection, were extremely popular in the early years of cinema. No doubt the impetus was given by the already popular stage versions, in particular, the Oberammergau Passion Play. This play is performed every decade in a small Bavarian town, for which many cards were made already from the late 19th century onwards. This inspired first the Americans to create their own Passion Play films in the late 1890s, immediately followed by the French companies Lumière and Gaumont. While Gaumont shot another version in 1906, Pathé produced four versions in 1900, 1902-1903, 1907, and 1913.

The number of congregations departing the United Methodist Church (UMC) exceeded 5,000 last week as the second-largest Protestant denomination in the U.S. continues to fracture over theological disagreements, mostly pertaining to human sexuality. The number of churches that have been given the green light by their annual conferences to disaffiliate increased from approximately 4,600 early last week to 5,321 as of Friday, according to UM News. The number of churches leaving the UMC has surged in recent years, with approximately 2,000 congregations being approved to disaffiliate in 2022 and more than 3,000 this year.
