BREAKING: COURT SLAPS DOWN CALIFORNIA'S ATTEMPT TO MUZZLE DOCTORS WHO DISSENT FROM COVID GROUPTHINK

Court Slaps Down California’s Attempt To Muzzle Doctors Who Dissent From Covid Groupthink----A federal judge halted California’s attempt to censor doctors when, last Wednesday, the court enjoined the state statute that banned medical professionals from spreading purported “misinformation” or “disinformation” to their patients about Covid-19. The decision represents the latest victory against the authoritarian edicts that quickly followed the outbreak of the pandemic three years ago but continue to this day.

In August of 2022, California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed into law Assembly Bill 2098 (AB 2098), adding a new provision to California’s extensive regulations governing the professional and ethical conduct of physicians — regulations that ban practices ranging from human cloning to performing a pelvic exam on an unconscious or anesthetized female patient without her knowledge or consent.

The new statute sought to stop what the legislature called a “pernicious” threat to public health — doctors who spread “misinformation” or “disinformation” to their patients about Covid-19. Specifically, AB 2098 provides:It shall constitute unprofessional conduct for a physician and surgeon to disseminate misinformation or disinformation related to COVID-19, including false or misleading information regarding the nature and risks of the virus, its prevention and treatment; and the development, safety, and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines.  READ MORE AT

THE EXAMINER NEWS---HEALTH EXPERTS RAISE CONCERNS OVER INDIAN POINT WASTEWATER

elcome to The New Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Health Experts Raise Concerns Over Indian Point Wastewater

Health experts raised concerns last week over the discharge of radioactive wastewater that may be dumped into the Hudson River as part of the decommissioning of the Indian Point nuclear power plants in Buchanan.

During a Jan. 26 online forum, health professionals and environmentalists addressed Holtec International’s plans to release one million gallons of wastewater from the spent fuel cooling pools, contending the discharge poses a serious threat to public health and the entire ecosystem.

Last September, Physicians for Social Responsibility–New York submitted a letter to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) regarding potential discharges of wastewater from the Indian Point site by Holtec.

“Exposure to toxic effluents including radionuclides poses a serious health and economic risk to communities up and down the Hudson River and can have negative impacts on real estate values,” the group stated. “Quantification and characterization of these discharges are needed in order to properly assess impacts. Independent expert analysis regarding potential health and environmental impacts from these exposures is imperative. Indeed, under the Endangered Species Act, independent environmental expertise is required prior to the discharge of radioactive water.” More at Health Experts Raise Concerns Over Indian Point Wastewater (theexaminernews.com)

TWITTER FILES UPDATE---MATT TAIBBI. THE MIND-BOGGLING CASE OF HAMILTON 68

The Astounding Saga Of Hamilton 68 Illustrates Scope Of America’s Institutional Rot

Thanks to Matt Taibbi’s most recent contribution to ‘The Twitter Files,’ we know the full extent of institutional corruption in the mind-boggling case of Hamilton 68.

EMILY JASHINSKY--The media fell head over heels for a shoddy propaganda operation spearheaded by an ex-FBI agent. Twitter, internally, understood the operation to be partisan hackery but never spoke out. Organizations full of influential ex-government officials promoted the operation. And it’s only thanks to Matt Taibbi’s most recent contribution to “The Twitter Files” that we know the full extent of institutional corruption in the mind-boggling case of Hamilton 68...MORE AT

ANOTHER LOOK AT THE GLORIOUS MAIN WINDOW OF ASBURY METHODIST CHURCH

Welcome to The New Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

We've talked about the stunning grand window on the main facade of Croton's Asbury United Methodist Church before, but recently had an opportunity to photograph it again during their 2013 Arts & Hearts Valentine Crafts Fair.

Composed of well over a dozen individual "segments" and original to the church, the window underwent restoration work a few years ago. It really is quite spectacular. Click on the photo. To see more of Asbury's stained glass windows, including close-ups of this one, click here.

FROM COLLECTING CANDY---THE 1972 BRACH'S VALENTINE 'SHARE A LITTLE LOVE" CAMPAIGN----For today’s pre-Valentine’s Day post, I’ll be sharing a Brach’s candy salesman promotional packet created in support of their 1972 “Share a Little Love” campaign.  It’s a terrific and unique look into our confectionery past and it follows up a few other Brach’s salesman packet offerings I’ve shared in the last year.  Make the jump to check it out!

After acquiring a group of vintage promotional materials from the files of a former Brach’s salesman a year ago, I first showcased a packet built around their 1972 Easter campaign and later followed that up with some terrific Halloween materials and finally a beautiful packet for their 1972 Fall Chocolates.  So today it is my pleasure to share the contents of Brach’s “Share a Little Love” promotional packet for Valentine’s Day 1972.  Let’s get to it.  CLICK HERE.

NEW FROM EFSP - TARZAN, KING OF THE JUNGLE

New from our friends at European Film Star Postcards: 01 February 2023

Tarzan, the king of the jungle

Tarzan is a fictional hero conceived by Edgar Rice Burroughs. He first appeared in the novel 'Tarzan of the Apes' in 1912. The book was a great success, resulting in the author going on to write 23 more adventures featuring Tarzan. Burroughs' books were so successful that Hollywood showed interest in film adaptations. Some 90 films were made about Tarzan since 1918. Most of these Tarzan films do not do justice to the original character created by writer Burroughs, but their less complex portrayal of the wild 'ape-man' became proverbial. Tarzan, his girlfriend Jane and the animals in the jungle appealed wildly to audiences all over the world. READ AND SEE MORE AT European Film Star Postcards: Tarzan, the king of the jungle
