IN THE NEWS---CHINA BEGAN DEVELOPING TWO COVID VACCINES BEFORE OFFICIAL OUTBREAK

China 'began developing two Covid vaccines' before official outbreak---US senate report concluded that the pandemic most likely came from a lab leak

By Nick Allen IN WASHINGTON18 April 2023 • 3:08pm

Chinese researchers may have begun developing two Covid vaccines in November 2019, before the official start of the outbreak, a US senate report has claimed.

The claims come in a 300-page document, which concluded that the pandemic most likely came from a lab leak and was the result of a "research-related incident" in Wuhan.

It said the theory that Covid-19 jumped from animals to humans in a market no longer deserved the "presumption of accuracy".

The report argued that Chinese researchers appeared to begin development of at least two Covid vaccines at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) in November 2019, meaning "SARS-CoV-2 would have been present at the WIV before the known outbreak of the pandemic".  MORE AT China 'began developing two Covid vaccines' before official outbreak (telegraph.co.uk)

EDUCATION ISSUES---NATIVE AMERICAN MASCOT BAN PROMPTS CHANGE, ANGER, AMONG LONG ISLAND SCHOOLS

Native American Mascot Ban Prompts Change, Anger Among Long Island Schools

For at least ten Long Island school districts, a big change is underway.

Sophie Grieser
04/19/2023 4:30 p.m.

The New York State Board of Regents voted on Tuesday, April 18 to ban the use of Native American names, mascots, or logos by public schools across the state of New York.

The ruling, which is an addition to the existing Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, will require school districts to make a commitment to the rule by the end of this school year.

The amendment states that “the use of Native American mascots” could create a hostile environment for students, thus putting it in violation of the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA). Schools that defy DASA may lose state aid and may see their officials fired for noncompliance.

As it stands, about ten schools on Long Island currently have logos and mascots related to Indigenous culture.

Some schools are voicing concerns about, and even threatening legal action against, the new rules.

The Massapequa Board of Education, whose mascot is “The Chief," released a statement on Tuesday, April 18 decrying the vote. MORE AT

Join C.L.E.A.N for our first clean-up of the year at the Train Station Parking Lot! We'll be focusing on "Lot I" which is adjacent to the wetlands, where there's a ton of plastic waste accumulating.
Please bring work gloves and sturdy shoes/boots (waterproof if you have them) and wear a bright colored jacket if you have it. Also, if you happen to have a long net to fish trash out of the water that'd be a huge help! C.L.E.A.N. will provide trash bags, latex gloves, hi-vis vests, and a couple of trash grabbers.

Village residents can park at the train station for free if they complete the Weekend Parking Permit form, or paid parking is less that $2 per hour.

BERENSEN V. BIDEN: THE POTENTIAL AND SIGNIFICANCE

Berenson v. Biden: The Potential and Significance BY BROWNSTONE INSTITUTE APRIL 19, 2023

What if President Trump’s advisors worked with oil executives and tech platforms to censor green activists? What if there was concrete evidence that the Bush Administration and Halliburton board members encouraged media companies to silence journalists for challenging the official narrative of the Iraq War? What if the efforts had been successful?

Surely, the media would cover the federal-corporate censorship operation with taglines of fascism. Democracy dies in darkness would echo from the halls of the Washington Post. Woodward and Bernstein would make the rounds on the Sunday morning shows, and the New York Times would dedicate its Sunday edition to the new rise in fascism. The resulting lawsuit would be heralded as a David v. Goliath in which one journalist and the First Amendment took on the most powerful forces in the nation.

Berenson v. Biden should fit this narrative. Journalist Alex Berenson is suing President Biden, White House advisors, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, and Pfizer Board Member Scott Gottlieb for orchestrating a public-private censorship campaign against him.

Last year, Berenson sued Twitter after the company banned his account. After surviving Twitter’s motion to dismiss, Berenson reached a settlement with the social media company, and his account was reinstated. Further, he gained access to concrete evidence that government actors – including White House Covid Advisor Andy Slavitt – worked to censor him for criticizing Biden’s Covid policies. YOUR DOCTOR ASKING FOR YOUR PRONOUNS ISN'T JUST ANNOYING---IT'S A SIGN OF THE INDUSTRY'S DECLINE

It’s tempting to shrug off the annoying pronoun questions from your doctor because they’re not hurting you. That’s where you’d be wrong.

Last summer, I went to establish care at a new doctor’s office. My beloved pediatrician, one of the few true family doctors left in the industry, had once kindly offered to keep seeing me until I have my own children, but I was in the midst of a post-college move, and that was no longer feasible. So I found myself in a waiting room wading through the moat of new-patient forms that stand between patients and doctors all across America.

As many of those forms now do, this one wanted to know not only my sexual orientation and sex, but also the so-called gender I was “assigned at birth,” whether I identified as transgender, and my preferred pronouns.  READ MORE AT Your Doctor Asking For Your Pronouns Is A Sign Of Medical Decline (thefederalist.com)

OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL WINNING SWIMMER VOICES SUPPORT FOR RILEY GAINES

Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer voices support for Riley Gaines: 'A lot of us veterans are behind her'--Story by Amy Nelson • Yesterday 3:30 PM

Varona called on parents of young girls to voice support for Riley Gaines, a former Kentucky swimmer who has spearheaded the fight for women’s sports in recent months.  Gaines was assaulted on the San Francisco State University campus after delivering a speech on protecting women’s sports. She has faced severe backlash for her opinion that transgender athletes – specifically biological males who have transitioned to female – should not be permitted to compete in the women’s division. MORE AT Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer voices support for Riley Gaines: 'A lot of us veterans are behind her' (msn.com)
