Thompson’s Cider Mill Hard Ciders Awarded Six Medals in International Competition

River Journal — June 24, 2022....For the third consecutive year, the Hard Ciders produced by Thompson’s Cider Mill in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, have been recognized for their distinctive character, taste and quality in the annual Great American Cider Competition.

From 1958 ".....Gigi" based on the story by Colette, directed by Vincent Minnelli and starring Leslie Caron---click on the vintage photo postcard-- Louis Jourdan, and Maurice Chevalier.  It would go on to win for Best Picture in 1959.

New from our friends at European Film star Postcards: Alla Nazimova

One of the fixtures at Il Cinema Ritrovato is the programme '100 Years ago'. One of the masterpieces of 1922 was Salomé by Charles Bryant and the Russian-born film and theatre actress, screenwriter, and film producer Alla Nazimova.

Nazimova (1879–1945) was a grand, highly flamboyant star of American silent cinema. On Broadway, she was noted for her work in the classic plays of Ibsen, Chekhov and Turgenev.
