Just five years later, Time’s Up is now officially closing its doors after the group was revealed to be nothing more than another partisan operation that opted to protect Democrats from the very type of sexual assault and workplace inequality allegations they claimed to be fighting against. Our Croton Seniors celebrated Valentine's Day with another successful party, and we know they love to party! A dessert pot luck was attended by a number of members who enjoyed a very large assortment of scrumptious desserts. Some Valentine fun facts were shared and wedding anniversaries of club members that ranged from 18 months to 67 years were acknowledged. Another good time had by all!

Heavy equipment is now on site at the Katz property---soon to be home to an "all-affordable" housing project; CLICK HERE TO READ AND SEE MORE---HOWEVER:

1) There seems to be some commentary and impression that these units are reserved for Croton residents, empty-nesters, or their children.  This is incorrect. All questions regarding selection for the low income/affordable units should be directed to village staff and/or officials.

2) Questions regarding school taxes and the PILOT for this project should be referred to village/school staff and/or officials.  The developer receives significant tax breaks.

3) Regarding traffic and safety issues, Route 129, and the property site itself, all questions should be referred to village staff and or officials

For as the sun shines on Candlemas Day---So far will the snow swirl until May---For as the snow blows on Candlemas Day--So far will the sun shine before May.

Those words refer to a legend associated with an old church festival that brought a little light into each home during the coldest part of the year, weeks after Christmas and New Years' had passed.

Don't get me wrong - I love Christmas. But most years, it seems like just about the time life slows down enough to spend a few precious hours enjoying our family and the holiday itself, it's time to take down the lights and pack away the decorations. And then we still have twelve long, cold weeks of winter.

After New Years' this year, I thought, "Wouldn't it be nice if there was a mid-winter festival that was really in the middle of winter instead of at the 'front end'?
