IN THE NEWS: RETIRED THREE STAR GENERAL SUSPENDED AFTER TWEET AT JILL BIDEN

The Army suspended a three-star general after he appeared to make fun of First Lady Jill Biden.

Retired lieutenant general Gary Volesky, a former spokesman for the Army, responded to a tweet from Biden about the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade, in which the First Lady remarked that women’s rights had been “stolen.”  Biden tweeted that “for nearly 50 years, women have had the right to make our own decisions about our bodies. Today, that right was stolen from us.”

Volesky responded, “Glad to see you finally know what a woman is.” READ AND SEE MORE AT

7/7/2022 FDA Finally Admits It Caused the Baby Formula Shortage--The agency is now taking small steps to allow foreign formula manufacturers to import their goods into the U.S.merica's recent shortage of baby formula.

The FDA. More specifically, it's the FDA's unnecessary and protectionist rules that effectively ban foreign-made baby formula from being imported into the United States. On Wednesday, the agency announced plans to tweak those rules so foreign formula manufacturers can permanently import their goods into the U.S., giving American consumers greater choice in the marketplace and ensuring more robust supply chains. THE GAZETTE, THE KATZ PROPERTY "ALL-AFFORDABLE" HOUSING PROJECT, WEEK OF JULY 7 THROUGH 13, 2022

Welcome to The New Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

You are strongly encouraged to read the page 1 article on the Katz "all-affordable" housing project and the recent $3M grant it was awarded. (Click on the image.) Significant income and other changes have occurred in the project (11 one bedroom, 11 two-bedroom, and 11 three-bedroom apartments now). The article also details the tax breaks granted by the village, the original price the village paid versus what is selling the property for, what residents were originally told about income and numbers of units, etc.   MAYOR PUGH IS QUOTED AS SAYING "the increase in the number of bedrooms and broadening the mix of units to include three-bedroom apartments was expected by Regan to increase the likelihood of the project receiving the necessary state tax credits"......The 66 BEDROOM PROJECT WILL PROVIDE RENTS TO HOUSEHOLDS HAVING 50 TO 80 PERCENT OF WAMI. (For a snapshot of what that means, visit other local "all-affordable" projects.)

The article is extensive.  Again you are encouraged to read it in its entirety to understand fully what village officials have committed to.

The Gazette does not have an online presence.  It is however, sold just about everywhere.

How woke food fights are destroying restaurants BY Jeanette Settembre---The restaurant industry is eating itself alive.

While now-disgraced food icons like Mario Batali and Ken Friedman were rightfully taken down for their illegal actions, scoop-hungry food blogs are now stooping to skewering chefs for the most minor offenses – and restaurant insiders are fed up by the cannibalism threatening to devour what’s left of a struggling industry.
