Welcome to The New Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.You are strongly encouraged to read the page 1 article on the Katz "all-affordable" housing project and the recent $3M grant it was awarded. (Click on the image.) Significant income and other changes have occurred in the project (11 one bedroom, 11 two-bedroom, and 11 three-bedroom apartments now). The article also details the tax breaks granted by the village, the original price the village paid versus what is selling the property for, what residents were originally told about income and numbers of units, etc. MAYOR PUGH IS QUOTED AS SAYING "the increase in the number of bedrooms and broadening the mix of units to include three-bedroom apartments was expected by Regan to increase the likelihood of the project receiving the necessary state tax credits"......The 66 BEDROOM PROJECT WILL PROVIDE RENTS TO HOUSEHOLDS HAVING 50 TO 80 PERCENT OF WAMI. (For a snapshot of what that means, visit other local "all-affordable" projects.)
The article is extensive. Again you are encouraged to read it in its entirety to understand fully what village officials have committed to.
The Gazette does not have an online presence. It is however, sold just about everywhere.
