Legislator Ben Boykin Also Knew of Potential Child Sex Crimes by Anand Singh--The dominoes are falling at the Westchester Board of Legislators.--

After a live-streamed video of Westchester County Board of Legislators staffer, Anand Singh, aired in December 2022 committing what appeared to be solicitation of sex with a minor, the BOL was notified. Our initial reporting only provided evidence that Colin Smith was informed of Singh’s behavior. We have now learned that Ben Boykin of district five was also notified in December.

The private Youtube group, OBL Global, conducts undercover sting operations to catch potential sexual predators. In December 2022, they lured Anand Singh to meet what he believed to be a 14 year-old girl for a sexual encounter. Viewers of this livestream video then contacted Singh’s employer, the Westchester County BOL.

Colin Smith of the first legislative district responded to these contacts about Singh on December 31, 2022. In speaking with Smith, we confirmed that he notified others in government like Chairwoman Borgia (to whom Anand directly reports), the Department of Public Safety, as well as the Clerk for the BOL. However, we’ve now been informed that Ben Boykin also received a similar email and transmitted that correspondence to the Clerk at the same time.

Westchester Board of Legislators Long Knew of Suspected Child Predator, Anand Singh

Westchester Board of Legislators (BOL) staffer Anand Singh was captured in a “to catch a predator” style Youtube video soliciting sex from a suspected underage girl in December 2022. While the video of this full operation did not become public until April 13th, members on the BOL knew about Singh’s alleged sex crimes for months and appear to have taken no action.

The group, OBL Global, lures potential child predators using fake dating app profiles. Late last year, their team spent over a week ensnaring former Yonkers City Council staffer and then-current BOL staffer Anand Singh via hundreds of text messages and voice calls. In mid-December, Singh traveled across state lines into New Jersey to meet who he expected to be a 14 year-old girl. Instead, OBL Global confronted Singh while live-streaming the interaction. Singh then absconded the scene before authorities arrived. On April 13th, OBL Global released a 30-minute Youtube video summarizing their sting operation that culminated in that face-to-face encounter.

The BOL Chairperson, Catherine Borgia, began to call legislators immediately following the release of the Youtube video. She informed the 17-member body that Anand Singh had been terminated. During this communication, she described the allegations against him. The Westchester County Police Department also reached out to OBL Global on April 16th in regards to an investigation into this matter.

Westchester DA, Mimi Rocah, Investigating Legislators Over Child Sex Predator Scandal---The Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, led by Mimi Rocah, is now investigating the Westchester County Board of Legislators (BOL) over their knowledge and procedures leading to the termination of alleged child sex predator, Anand Singh. In a letter dated Tuesday, April 18th, Chief Assistant District Attorney Amy Finzi transmitted a notice to BOL Chair, Catherine Borgia.
