Plans in Works to Relocate Spent Fuel Rods at Indian Point--December 22, 2022 Rick Pezzullo Buchanan

Plans are underway to possibly relocate the spent nuclear fuel rods currently housed in dry casks at the Indian Point Energy Center in Buchanan.Indian Point Nuclear Power Station 

During an Indian Point Decommissioning Oversight Board meeting at Linda Puglisi Town Hall in Cortlandt earlier this month, Erica Bickford, Acting Director of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy, said the fuel rods could be transferred “by the next decade.”

Stanford Seeks the 'Elimination of Harmful Language' Like 'American,' 'Stupid,' and…'Karen'

Their suggested replacement for 'Karen' is far more offensive than the term itself. 

Stanford University's IT department created a list of offensive terms and phrases accompanied by alternative recommendations. December 22 was the birth date of the Italian opera composer Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924).

I was startled to learn how recently he’d died; we are only just coming upon the centennial. So modern a figure was he in fact, that he was once seriously injured in an automobile accident (1903). We are accustomed to tying such revered figures to a past more distant, but though Puccini was a member of a musical dynasty that stretches back to the time of Rossini, he himself was of the modern era, as is evident from the contemporary, realistic themes from many of his works, and the fact that he adapted many then-recent stage plays.  More at Puccini and Popular Theatre – (Travalanche) (wordpress.com)

Bankman-Fried’s ex-girlfriend and FTX co-founder plead guilty to fraud charges

The ex-girlfriend of disgraced crypto mogul Sam Bankman-Fried and a co-founder of FTX pleaded guilty to fraud charges in the collapse of the cryptocurrency exchange and are both cooperating with federal prosecutors, officials announced Wednesday night.

Caroline Ellison, the former CEO of Bankman-Fried’s crypto hedge fund company Alameda Research, and Gary Wang, a co-founder of FTX, pleaded guilty to the criminal offenses before Bankman-Fried landed in New York to face his own charges, Manhattan US Attorney Damian Williams said in a statement.
