Rock ‘n’ roll icon Jerry Lee Lewis died at his home in Memphis, Tennessee, representative Zach Farnum told the Associated Press. 

He was 87.

It has been an exciting and busy first year as Town Supervisor. I am very pleased to announce that we have been able to continue the tradition in 2023 of an on-average 1% tax increase. The Town is proposing a 1% increase in the tax levy for 2023, and therefore we have met the New York State Tax Cap mandate of a 2% allowable tax levy limit for 2023. San Francisco is one of the major California cities that has experienced a startling crime spike in the last couple of years. Since January of this year, larceny theft is up 15.3 percent, assault is up 11.1 percent, robbery is up 5.2 percent, and rape is up 8.2 percent, according to statistics from the city police department.

The situation for businesses has become so volatile that some major companies have closed their San Francisco locations. Active wear brand Cotopaxi, a competitor to Patagonia, announced earlier this month that it would shutter its San Francisco store because of repeated break-ins and rampant crime in the area.
