5/6 RALLY TO SAVE THE RIVER

Welcome to The New Everything Croton--a collection of all things Croton, our history, our homes, our issues, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Rally to Save the River: May 6, 2023 at 2PM
Release Date: April 14, 2023---CLICK ON THE FLYER.

As the Supervisor of The Town of Cortlandt, the host community for Indian Point, I am writing to inform you of a major rally against Holtec on May 6, at The Cortlandt Waterfront Park in Verplanck, at 2 PM. This site is a Town owned park, adjacent to Indian Point and the perfect venue: beautiful views of the Hudson. The Town Board is sponsoring this event.

As you may be aware, Holtec International is planning to discharge 1 million gallons of radioactive water into the Hudson River as part of its decommissioning process. Their argument is that this is a low level of radiation, that they have been doing it continuously since the plant opened, and that there are no other viable options. The Town of Cortlandt, as well as multiple local other municipalities and agencies, strongly objects. Since the decommissioning process began, The Town has been working with the State’s Decommissioning Oversight Board. Disappointingly, this Oversight Board has taken no action on this issue and has stated that it is really a Federal (NRC) and State (DEC) decision. The Town Board feels this is unacceptable, and we are prepared to fight vehemently against this happening. We anticipate this to be a major rally with thousands in attendance.

Musicians: Dar Williams, Brian McGrath, Fred Gillen, Jr, and Tom Chapin.

Large Flotilla on the river—Dozens of Yacht clubs, Rowing Associations, Fisherman, Kayakers, etc.

Children’s activities – Including Face Painting; Cornhole; Hula hoops

Please join us!

“It is a bit chilling,” Gaines said. “It's a bit unnerving to think about what people are willing to do these days to silence you.”  READ MORE AND SEE VIDEO AT Riley Gaines wants SFSU attackers prosecuted: 'I believe there needs to be accountability' | Washington Examiner

Letter to the Editor: Contaminated Water Has Been Discharged into Hudson Since 1962
User Submitted — April 13, 2023

To the Editor,

I enjoy kayaking and fishing on the Hudson River. There has been much concern of late about the future discharge of tritium contaminated water from Indian Point back into the Hudson. I attended the latest Indian Point Decommissioning Forum held at the Buchanan-Verplanck Elementary School on March 28, 2023. Senior executives at Bud Light parent company Anheuser-Busch were reportedly not informed about the company’s partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, with one source claiming the move “was a mistake.”

Earlier this month, Mulvaney revealed a partnership with Bud Light, sharing an image of a personalized beer can depicting Mulvaney’s face. In the days that followed, a spokesperson for the company confirmed the partnership stating Mulvaney was just one of “hundreds of influencers” the company worked with in order to “authentically connect” with consumers.---READ MORE AT‘It Was A Mistake’: Bud Light Execs Reportedly Scrambling To Undo Dylan Mulvaney Damage | The Daily Caller

19 TIMES DEMOCRATS AND DOJ DELIBERATELY POLITICIZED LAW ENFORCEMENT---INFILTRATION OF CATHOLIC PARISHES, PARENTS AS DOMESTIC TERRORISTS, ETC.

TRISTAN JUSTICE----Amid calls from former President Donald Trump to “defund” the partisan Department of Justice and FBI, which treats its friends above the law and its enemies below it, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer defended the agencies.

But a review of the agencies’ track records shows them to be indefensible. Here are 19 times Democrats and DOJ politicized the rule of law, deploying federal resources to do Democrats’ bidding.

1. Infiltration of Catholic Parishes

House Republican Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan subpoenaed FBI Director Christopher Wray on Tuesday after a whistleblower revealed the agency is targeting Catholic parishes.

In February, former Special Agent Kyle Seraphin revealed that “the FBI’s Richmond Division would like to protect Virginians from the threat of ‘white supremacy,’ which it believes has found a home within Catholics who prefer the Latin Mass.”

“The document assesses with ‘high confidence’ the FBI can mitigate the threat of Radical-Traditionalist Catholics by recruiting sources within the Catholic Church,” Seraphin reported.

Jordan’s letter to Wray Tuesday said the FBI sought to use local religious organizations as ‘new avenues for tripwire and source development.’”

2. FBI Targeted Parents for Domestic Terrorism

Weeks before the 2021 Virginia gubernatorial election, in which parental rights in education were the centerpiece of Republican campaigns, the FBI deployed counterterrorism resources on parents who raised issues at school board meetings. Parents identified as extremists by FBI activists were labeled with “threat tags” under Attorney General Merrick Garland’s guidance. READ MORE AT

HOLTEC---EXAMINER NEWS--PLANNED EARLIER DISCHARGE OF RADIOACTIVE WASTEWATER RIPPED

Welcome to The New Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Planned Earlier Discharge of Radioactive Wastewater Ripped

A plan to dump more than one million gallons of radioactive wastewater into the Hudson River as part of the decommissioning of the Indian Point nuclear power plants earlier than expected is being widely criticized by elected officials and environmental groups.

Holtec International, which was approved by the federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to take over the 240-acre site in Buchanan from Entergy in Nov. 2021, informed the Indian Point Energy Center Decommissioning Oversight Board last week that it intends to discharge the wastewater from the plants in May—three months earlier than it told the board in early Feb. FOREST ROBINSON - TOO DEAD TO LIVE, AND TOO ALIVE TO DIE, GEN Z IS GENERATION ZOMBIE

Does Generation Z take anything seriously? Earnestness is “cringe,” being in love makes one a “simp,” and ambition makes one a “try-hard.”

There is a “deeper ideology lurking in the minds of younger millennials & Gen Z,” as Esmé Partridge writes, “the rejection of idealism in all its forms.” Disenchanted with the world, plagued by hopelessness and nihilism, we have become a generation of zombies — a group of youth that is too dead to live and too alive to die.

No Purpose or Place

In the 1920s, famed novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald described his lost generation as one that had “grown up to find all gods dead, all wars fought, and all faith in man shaken.”

A century later, Gen Z finds itself in a similar position.  READ MORE AT
