NY COUNTY LEADER SUES AG JAMES FOR THREATENING LEGAL ACTION OVER ORDER PROTECTING WOMEN'S SPORTS

A New York county official sued the state attorney general, Letitia James, on Wednesday for demanding the removal of an executive order that bans males from participating in women’s and girls’ sports.

Nassau County executive Bruce Blakeman filed a federal lawsuit with the Eastern District of New York, arguing the cease-and-desist letter, in which James threatens legal action if the county doesn’t comply, violates the Constitution’s equal-protection clause under the Fourteenth Amendment.  SEE MORE AT N.Y. Croton Residents for Responsible Telecom

************
The current draft law is unfit because it biases the process for proposing new cell tower locations by exempting Village-owned sites from requirements that are intended to ensure that locations are selected based primarily on their impact on cell coverage for residents. Specifically, the draft law:Exempts proposals for new cell towers on Village-owned properties from Alternative site analysis in § 206-6, point A2.

Exempts proposals for new cell towers on Village-owned properties from Collocation and siting analysis in § 206-6, point A3.

Exempts proposals for new cell towers on Village-owned properties from Review and approval by the Planning Board in § 206-6, point A4d.

Exempts proposals for new cell towers on Village-owned properties from review to ensure that the proposed tower "is not detrimental to the public health, safety, and welfare" and that it "complies with the requirements of this Chapter and all applicable design and development standards,"

Has an effective preference for Village-owned sites in PRE-1 and RA-40 zones, but requires proposals for non-Village-owned sites in these same zones to prove that it is not technically feasible to build a new cell tower on one of the defined Village-owned properties in § 206-6, point A1d.

We expect to have more information available to share soon, and would be happy to send a follow-up.

LEGAL BATTLE LOOMS OVER INDIAN POINT WATER DISPOSAL--PEEKSKILL HERALD

Welcome to The New Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

As this is a hot topic locally:  March 1, 2024 JIM ROBERTS

Getting the 240 acres of land at Indian Point restored and redeveloped is a goal for everyone involved. The loss of $33 million in annual tax revenue and 1,000 jobs is devastating for the local community.

Holtec International, the company charged with completing the complex task of safely storing the spent uranium fuel rods, removing all the buildings and disposing of any waste materials, showed a timeline for the overall project at the last public meeting of the Indian Point Decommissioning Oversight Board held on Dec. 6.

What began as a target date of 2033 has now been pushed back to 2041 by Holtec, a delay they claim is caused by a state law passed last year that bans disposing 1.3 million gallons of treated wastewater with traces of radioactive tritium into the Hudson River. OH KISS OFF! ICONIC PHOTO STAYS---DECISION TO BAN REVERSED!

A busybody undersecretary at the Department of Veteran's Affairs, RimaAnn Nelson, declared the famous Aug. 14, 1945 Times Square kiss picture "inappropriate" because the smooch wasn't consensual.

The left’s war on history continues apace.....EXCERPTED:

A busybody undersecretary at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, RimaAnn Nelson, declared the famous Aug. 14, 1945 Times Square kiss picture “inappropriate” because the smooch wasn’t consensual, and said it needed to be “promptly” removed from all VA property.

Never mind that Greta Zimmer, the nurse, didn’t have a problem with the photograph, and understood that sailor George Mendonsa was caught up in the joy of Japan’s final surrender when he randomly kissed her.   Read the article at Ban of WWII kiss picture part of the left's mad crusade to erase history (nypost.com)
