The head of a radical activist group who urged anti-Israel protesters at Columbia University to channel the deadly Black Lives Matter riots of 2020 is a career agitator who spent “years” in the socialist haven of Cuba, The Post can reveal.

Manolo De Los Santos, the 35-year-old leader of the Midtown-based nonprofit The People’s Forum (TPF), came to The Bronx from his native Dominican Republic at age 5 and has made a career of spurring protests on the streets of New York City.

Memorial Day Ceremony Essay Contest
Release Date: May 06, 2024

What does Memorial Day mean to you? The Town of Cortlandt Government is asking students to submit an essay on the meaning of Memorial Day. Students must be in grades 5-12 and attend a school district in the Town of Cortlandt. The selected student will be invited to the Memorial Day Ceremony to read their essay. All submissions must be 200 words or less and received by Wednesday, May 15.

The Memorial Day Ceremony will be on Friday, May 24th at 1:00pm at the Muriel H. Morabito Community Center.

Among the many ways New York is still paying for the erratic-but-forceful leadership of ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the soaring expense and growing unreliability of the electric grid likely tops the list. Cuomo forced the shutdown of the Indian Point nuclear plant even as he rammed through the insane 2019 “Climate Leadership” law that demands an impossibly radical and expensive shift to wind and solar to produce most of the state’s power.

Fully embraced by Gov. Hochul, the climate law insists the state get 70% of its energy from non-carbon-fuels by 2030 — and 100% by 2040.
