Cuomo shifts blame for COVID-19 nursing home policy in interview with Congress

EXCLUSIVE — Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo showed no regret for his administration’s policies requiring nursing homes to admit COVID-19-positive patients in the early months of the pandemic, according to Republican Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY), who was involved in questioning the former governor on Tuesday.

Cuomo, who resigned in late 2021 following months of scandal, testified under subpoena before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic in a closed-door transcribed interview session regarding the March 25, 2020, the New York Department of Health directive prohibiting nursing homes from denying admission to COVID-19-positive patients. Ossining suspect busted in attack on Jewish Columbia University student

Zuhdi Ahmed, 20, of Ossining, was arrested just after 6 a.m. and slapped with multiple charges – assault and menacing as hate crimes, as well as aggravated harassment, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment – in connection to the April 20 crime targeting student Jonathan Lederer, 22, police said.

Ahmed was allegedly part of a trio who confronted Lederer just before 10 p.m. at Amsterdam Avenue and West 116th Street, with one of them ripping away his Israeli flag, cops said. MORE AT

Breaking: Parents Defending Education sues Croton-Harmon schools in federal court for alleged constitutional violations related to harassment, bullying, DEI policies

The suit, which includes three anonymous Croton-Harmon school district parents, alleges free speech violations and compulsion of students to adopt sex and gender ideas contrary to their beliefs.

Today, June 12, the nationwide conservative group Parents Defending Education sued the Croton-Harmon school district in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, White Plains Division, for violations of students’ rights under the First and Fourteenth Amendments to the U.S. Constitution.

The 63 page Complaint names the district, the Board of Education, Superintendent Stephen Walker, Assistant Superintendent John Griffiths, and numerous other named district officials including the seven members of the Board. Also participating in the lawsuit are three anonymous Croton-Harmon parents, designated A through C, who believe that their children are being compelled by the district to adopt views contrary to their beliefs and principles. CLICK HERE

SUPERMAN DAY!!!!!!

We forgot....but better late than never. Yesterday was Superman Day.  Started in 2013 by DC Entertainment, two days before the release of the Superman film, Man of Steel. Created in 1933 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, it wasn’t until April 18, 1938 that the Superman we know of today appeared, and made his debut in Action Comics #1. READ MORE HERE.

The character has been played by many actors since George Reeves died on June 16, 1959---but for many of us who grew up in the 50's--or watched re-runs of the television show in the 60's and 70's--George Reeves will always be synonymous with the role. Click here to read more.
