6/13----At Wednesday’s Village of Croton Board of Trustees Meeting, Mayor Brian Pugh presented “Keys to the Village” to our Past Chiefs for their years of service and leadership to the department, and helped present a scholarship awarded to one of our young and dedicated members.

The ceremonial keys were given to Past Chiefs Frank Streany (92-94), Peter Anfiteatro ((94-96), Anthony Gagliotti (66-68), Stephen Dominello (02-04), Bill Vlad (96-98, 04-06, 14-15), Joe Streany (82-84), Chris Colombo (18-19 & current 1st Asst. Chief), Thomas “Tex” Dinkler (00-02) and our most recent Past Chief John Munson (12-13, 22-23).
Following this presentation, the Mayor and a representative from the Firefighters Association of New York awarded a scholarship to Firefighter Bryce Laemmel in recognition of his commitment and excellence as a member of our Washington Engine Company No. 2. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on June 27 recommended forthcoming COVID-19 vaccines for virtually all Americans.

“CDC recommends everyone ages 6 months and older receive an updated 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine to protect against the potentially serious outcomes of COVID-19 this fall and winter whether or not they have ever previously been vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine,” the agency said in a statement. Three of our parish youth members, John Marino, Evelyn McAndrew, and Jack McAndrew, will be attending the Capuchin Appalachian Mission in Harlan, Kentucky from July 8th-16th.
