Campaigns for public office often experience a bump in the road on the way to November.

It appears that former Rep. Mondaire Jones experienced such a jolt on Tuesday, when a stealth candidate from Rockland County upended Jones' bid to also run on the Working Families Party line in November.

Securing a minor party line can ensure a few percentage points in the general election. And Jones will need all the votes he can get in November in his bid to oust Rep. Mike Lawler, R-Pearl River.
