As people in business, we all know that everything depends on our reputations—our reputations for honesty, good business practices, producing a quality product, dealing fairly with the public, and did I say honesty?

My Croton business, of course, is The Croton Chronicle, an important vehicle for providing accurate information to the residents of our village. In the past day or two, an admin at another local Facebook group stated flatly that the Chronicle’s coverage of the Parents Defending Education lawsuit was motivated by my alleged friendship with one of the three anonymous parents involved in the litigation. State claims Holtec violated state law on wastewater disposal---Holtec denies allegations, says they comply with law

New York State Attorney General Letitia James is accusing Holtec International of violating a state law passed last August that prohibits Holtec from discharging radiological wastewater into the Hudson River.

“During the fourth quarter of 2023, and upon information and belief during the third quarter of 2023 after the Discharge Law became effective, Holtec discharged radiological substances into the Hudson River in connection with decommissioning of Indian Point in violation of the Discharge Law,” James alleges in legal papers filed July 3 in U.S. federal court.
