Croton Recreation Department Hosts Annual Senior Picnic at Senasqua Park
MICHAEL BALTER
Seniors enjoy a delicious lunch donated by ShopRite and grilled by experts from the Village's Department of Public Works.
Here at the Chronicle, we sometimes worry that we are giving the impression that the only thing members of the Croton Senior Club do is eat, rather than, for example, hosting speakers about retirement and healthy living. But really, it’s not our fault if folks keep wanting to feed us. Today it was the turn of Croton’s Recreation Department to host a feast for us, and the kindness of our local ShopRite to provide the food. One might call the event “Hamburgers by the Hudson,” and there were hotdogs by the Hudson too.
(Once again, full disclosure, the Chronicle’s editor is a member in good standing of the Croton Senior Club, and thus cannot be expected to display journalistic objectivity under these circumstances.)

An official government map shows America's biggest hotspots for young cancer patients.
The data comes amid a nationwide surge of the disease in Americans under 50, even those who appear relatively fit and healthy.
The map, based on the latest 2021 data from the National Cancer Institute, shows the rates of cancer incidences per 100,000 residents under age 50.
