SHOCKING TWIST IN CASE OF AFGHAN REFUGEE CHARGED WITH PLANNING ELECTION DAY MASSACRE

Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi the 27-year-old Afghan national who is being charged with planning a terror attack on the United States, reportedly worked for the CIA while in Afghanistan.

NBC News reported the shocking tie, further explaining that Tawhedi worked as a security guard for the agency, not as an informant. He was arrested in Oklahoma on Monday and stands accused of planning a radical ISIS-inspired terror attack to allegedly be carried out on Election Day, as Americans gather to choose the next president.

According to the report, it is unclear whether Tawhedi was radicalized before or after coming to the United States. As Daily Caller News Foundation previously reported, he had come into the country ahead of the botched US pullout of Afghanistan. NYC REPORTEDLY SEEKING 14,000 HOTEL ROOMS FOR MIGRANTS, TO SPEND OVER $2 BILLION

New York City reportedly seeking 14,000 hotel rooms for migrants, to spend over $2 billion as crisis rages on
October 10, 2024 | Jason Hopkins

New York City officials are reportedly looking to keep thousands of hotel rooms available for illegal migrants as the crisis in the Big Apple rages on, according to the New York Post.

The city’s Department of Homeless Services is seeking a contract with local hotels to provide roughly 14,000 rooms in order to shelter migrants through 2025, according to a report from the New York Post. The city anticipates spending on migrants in need of housing for the current fiscal year and the past two years combined will surpass $2.3 billion, with a significant amount of these costs going toward hotel rent. “The taxpayers can’t pay for this indefinitely,” Nicole Gelinas, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute think tank, said to the Post. “We should stop using hotels as shelters by the end of the year.”

THE CROTON CHRONICLE: WITH POLICE IN THE HALLWAY JUST OUTSIDE AND STERN WARNINGS FROM CROTON'S MAYOR, LOT A HEARING CONTINUES CALMLY

Welcome to The New Everything Croton--a collection of all things Croton, our history, our homes, our issues, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

With police in the hallway just outside and stern warnings from Croton’s mayor, the continued Lot A hearing proceeds calmly.

There are signs that both sides of the housing debate have refined their arguments over time and that the end result is likely to be a compromise of some kind.

Michael Balter

Oct 10

After the Chronicle published an Editorial criticizing Mayor Brian Pugh for trying to forcibly take a microphone away from a Croton resident speaking at a housing information session on Monday, we received a wide range of comments both publicly and privately. Some agree that the mayor over-reacted, some fault the resident for his own behavior, but all agree that the episode was very regrettable.

Mayor Pugh seemed determined to avoid a repeat incident at last evening’s Board of Trustees meeting: One or two members of the Croton Police Department were stationed in the hallway just outside throughout the meeting. And as the public hearing on the development of Lot A began (continued from September 18), Pugh read the Board’s Guidelines for Public Comment (read the rest of the article at (6) With police in the hallway just outside and stern warnings from Croton’s mayor, the continued Lot A hearing proceeds calmly.
