The Village of Croton-on-Hudson is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Fire Inspector. The regular hours for the position will be 14 hours a week, with the opportunity for additional hours as needed. The hourly wage for this position will be $25 to $30 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting multi-family buildings and assembly spaces for fire hazards, issuing notices of violations as appropriate, and investigating premises after fires.
The minimum acceptable training and experience include a high school diploma and three years of experience as a volunteer or paid firefighter, a building inspector, or an assistant building inspector, as well as proof of completion of the minimum basic code enforcement training course.
