AUGUST 18TH IS MAIL ORDER CATALOG DAY!

It's Mail Order Catalog Day!  Traditionally observed on August 18th.

And now to celebrate....A fabulous little Christmas regional mail order catalog from 1965 and Spencer Gifts--filled with all that familiar holiday kitsch from plastic holly to ceramic Santa mugs. There's even a large putz church that makes regular appearances on EBAY. Courtesy of Josef Benevengo, click on the link here: http://bit.ly/2nYg0ph

  1. There used to be a Spencer Gifts in the mall nearby when I was a teenager. They mostly sold gag gifts and posters, though. When we were little the Sears Christmas/toy catalog became our Bible every autumn; we literally wore out the pages.
