Lawmaker introduces bill to remove Cuomo name from bridge, restore "Tappan Zee" - Hudson Valley Sen. James Skoufis says this bill would replace the bridge's current name with the original 'Tappan Zee Bridge' moniker. Skoufis claims former Gov. Andrew Cuomo snuck the name change into a much larger bill passed years ago that contained spending and other legislative items.
