A reader writes: "I am surprised, given the progressive stand of so much of Croton, that it does not have a wellness center or a yoga school, or offer much in the way of vegan or vegetarian options."
Wow.
Normally your editor would have simply hit the delete button on this one but it had to be responded to.
Croton has had not one, but TWO "wellness centers"---in the Upper Village. The operative word here is HAD; let it suffice to say that both closed not long ago. If however, you are seeking "healthy cooking" options--or nutrition advice---you could contact THE ORGANIC TEACHING KITCHEN at Home - The Organic Teaching Kitchen
With respect to yoga, the village has had yoga studios; the operative word again is HAD. There are however, assorted yoga opportunities in the area if you look. For example, HUMBLE WARRIOR SPIRIT was holding classes at Out Saviour; contact them directly at THE NEW EVERYTHING CROTON: HUMBLE WARRIOR SPIRIT YOGA SECOND SATURDAY EVERY MONTH AT OUR SAVIOUR
Vegan is not big here in the village but there are vegan, gluten-free and vegetarian opportunities at Raga Indian and Asagao, Good Choice, the vegan kitchen in Ossining, has closed. There are also local farmer's markets; click here.
The reader is encouraged to open any new business they feel the village is lacking. We'll certainly get the word out.
